For the non-Brits on here: what Shakespeare did you study in Highschool and College? :)

I've only done Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, and that was in my freshman year of High School/9th grade. We're going to be doing A Midsummer's Night Dream or whatever it's called very soon, and I'm in my sophomore year of High School/10th grade currently. :)

Shakespeare is the most pointless thing to learn about. Ever.

I recall 'learning' about Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet, I think. When we were 'learning' about Romeo and Juliet it was that that AWFUL modern movie. Good GOD it sucked!

Yep, our GCSE English course in Shakespeare was watching Romeo + Juliet (with Leonardo DiCaprio) too.

I liked it though

A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, Macbeth and Othello, in that order. Othello has been the most fun to study, since we're doing it in greater depth than the others.

We learned about Macbeth ages ago and Romeo and Juliet for GCSE. We saw an old movie of it, which was pretty boring. The modern version is awful, I remember watching that a while ago "for fun". We also had to perform an extract from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in year 8...I was the wall. -_-

We learned about Macbeth for GCSE coursework. It was very confusing at times :confused: but I think I did okay in the essay :)

The only one we did was Macbeth. We only did a few scenes, and that was just course work, for which I am eternally grateful. If it had been an exam piece I would have, of course, killed myself.

We did Romeo and Juliet pre-GCSE. We watched the modern film. I admit that I enjoyed it. :cool: Except god DAMN he took a long time to die.

I had to do Macbeth for my Standard Grades - Scottish exams. :) It wasn't so bad. :D

I just started Romeo & Juliet in my english class.

We've read Romeo and Juliet and Julius Caesar so far. And that's about it.

I studied The Merchant of Venice in Year 8, Twelfth Night in Year 9, Romeo + Juliet (the Baz Luhrman movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio) in Year 10, Hamlet in Year 12.

I did Shakespeare in Year 7 and 11 too, but I can't for the life of me remember what they were...

They always, always make you do Macbeth in the British curriculum. Somewhere along the line, Macbeth is just waiting to pounce on you. :p

Hamlet, Macbeth <3, Othello, Romeo and Juliet - High school and The Sonnets in the lititure class I had at college.

Macbeth. Midsummer Nights dream. and one were some princess called Cornelia or summat dies in the end.

I did a modernized version of Macbeth. Damn but I thought it was funny.

I then had the misfortune of taking intro to shakespeare here at college, and we read:
A Middsummer's Night Dream, The Merchant if Venice, Henry the Fifth, As You Like It, Hamlet, Antony and Cleopatra, The Tempest, and The Two Noble Kinsman (written with John Fletcher)

I've been a part of a lot of Shakespeare... Did Hamlet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Midsummer's Night Dream, Romeo and Juliet and my Senior Year I was in the Musical which was Kiss Me, Kate, Cole Porter's musical rendition of Taming of the Shrew. I was General Harrison Howell if anyone has seen that musical. >.>

2nd grade: Twelfth Night
7th grade: Macbeth
8th grade: Romeo and Juliet
9th grade: Julius Caesar
11th grade: Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello

Year 8: Romeo and Juliet
Year 9 SATs: Macbeth
GSCE English: Romeo and Juliet again.

I would have enjoyed Shakespeare a whole lot more if I could understand WHAT THE HELL THEY WERE SAYING

Not in High School quite yet, but Mrs. Kelly just spent a month going over A Midsummer Night's Dream.

A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Julius Caesar. Over the summer and through next year (Senior year/12th grade), I'll read Hamlet and either Macbeth or Othello, my choice. I'm leaning towards Macbeth at the moment, but I'll likely talk to some people who've read both and see what their thoughts are.

Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth. But we really did more greek stuff like Oedipus and Medea. =)
