I tryed to quit drinking soda for the first time in my life. I have been drinking it since I was like 5. I can't do it, I go a day without it and start getting sick( head ache, dizzyness, drymouth, blury vizon, loss of apitite). As soon as I drink some soda it starts to go away and is gone in about 30 mins.
I am getting closer to quiting went down from 4, 44 oz dr.peppers a day to 1 44 oz dr.pepper a day.
anyone else addicted?
I don't get addicted to things. I quit drinking pop two weeks ago.then again, i rarely drank it before hand. I'm a water/juice guy.
I'm addicted to diet soda when it's available. I mean, if I have a case at home I'll drink at least one a day, sometimes two. But if I don't have any around I can go for weeks without it. It's just when it's in my reach that I can't get enough or say no to that stuff.
Wow I am addicted to soda too(pop I call it) but not as much as you dirk. I have to drink a can a day or I will get a caffeine headache. I have tried to quit several times, but man I just can't.:(

I really can't drink just water. I can't! Unless I'm really, really, really thirsty. Then water is the ONLY thing I want to drink! :D
But then again, like Miriel, I can manage without it if I have to. :choc2:

I use to drink a 12 pack of mt dew everyday. Now I drink a 12 pack od coke in a week or 2.
I could never become addicted to that stuff, because I care too much about my teeth.
The best way to get over any addiction is to go on a diet mainly consisting of fish, preferably Trout.
When I was 13-15 or so, I only drank soda. I would drink three, four sodas a day. It was horrible. Soda is the worst thing you can drink. Diet or caffeine free soda isn't any better (though caffeine free isn't addictive). Now I drink soda maybe two or three times a month, and then it's usually caffeine free.
Caffeine is addictive. When you try to stop drinking it after your body is used to it, you will go through withdrawal (not nearly as bad as alcohol/nicotine withdrawal, but still uncomfortable). If you really want to help your body and stop drinking, you'll have to tough it out for a while. Gradually would probably be best, so going down to one a day is good. Next go down to, say, half of a soda a day. Then none, and just tough out the headaches for a day or two (they don't last long).
I usually drink milk instead. It's the best.

Italian soda is great, everyone should start drinking that.
I'm sort of addicted to soda/pop/sodapop, but I try my best to stay away from it, I only really drink it on weekends.
I do drink far too much soda pop coke. I'd say I'm only borderline addicted. I think I'm just overall addicted to sweet sugary drinks - if I go without soda pop coke, I just end up making up for it in kool aid, gatorade, etc. Which are definitely better for me, but still not the best things I could be drinking :)
Naw, I'm not addicted, but I do love Mountain Dew. When I'm in the US I drink it pretty religiously if I can, but when I end up back in this backwater where there is no Mt Dew, I don't get any symptoms of withdrawal.
Then again, I would have at most two sodas a day.
I went without drinking a coke for a summer-- just diet pepsi and dr. pepper. and I had a coke and realized just how amazing it is.
You people who guzzle drinks down constantly can't appreciate them fully. They should be a treat, not a staple.

Yup, I'm addicted. Can't sleep, I'm paranoid, I think so fast I can't concentrate, etc.
Can't quit either. If I try to quit I get depressed, lethargic, and my whole body hurts.

I rarely have pop. It's way too unhealthy... when I do drink some Coke I have C2. Instead of having regular calorific Coke, or the much-dreaded Diet Coke (tastes horrible) it's a mix of both, and it actually tastes better than regular Coke.
You know, Soda/Pop shouldnt be bad enough for someone to consider quiting them. Its not killing you. Just brush your teeth.
I'm very addicted to soda, Because it tastes good.

I'm addicted to SODA. I love it and don't see a problem with it.
Soda is more of a once in a while thing for me.
I'm really addicted to coke cola and pepsi. I usually have four or five bottle's a day. I tried quiting a few times...but it didn't work out. I'm trying again...I'm down to one a day. :) My friends from work are just as bad...But it's not so bad though...there are worse things I could be addicted to...like worshiping Looney BoB. :eek:
I think the last time I had soda I was in 3rd grade, and that was because someone gave me Sprite because they couldn't tell the difference between Sprite and water. I've never liked the soda I've tried, and if I want sugar I'd much rather just eat some chocolate.
yeah its SODA by the way, becuase Dr.Pepper in no way is POP.

I don't drink soft drink that much - it's rare if I do, so no I'm by no means addicted to it. But I do love Red Bull.
I used to be addicted. I one day realized though how bad it was for me. Been drinking massive amounts of water eversince. I think a coke has 140 calories in it...well after drinkin ten of those a day i'd have taken in about 80 percent of how many calories i needed a day...You'd really be suprised how much better you look after drinking only water for a few months. I think there should be a condition called 'soda fat' cause its real people, its real...:tonberry:
getting fat is in your genes. I have skinny people genes I will always be skinny no matter what I eat or drink, people who have fat people genes should say away from all soda, and fatting foods.

When I was younger I used to drink 2-5 cans of Mountain Dew per day. I never got addicted though, and now if I tried to do that I'd most certainly vomit.
I could live without it. Im just fine with water :)
My Parents buy my brother and I one 500ml bottle of Dr Pepper a week. I drink most of it :cool:
Oh, and Dr Pepper = pop
I mostly drink Lucozade. I stopped drinking Coke about a year back.
Lucozade is a fizzy drink, but good for you. :up:

i drink a 32 oz. bottle of Mt. Dew for lunch everyday and then when i get home i drink 2 cans of pop either Coke of Mt. Dew. I also drink 1, 20oz bottle of gatorade and 1, 20 oz bottle of water. I do that everyday.
You should read whats in the Soda. One i drank before had vegetable oil in it and i all most threw up.
I have about 4 soda's per day.
That doesnt mean I'm addicted though I can quit anytime I want, I just dont want to right now.
Well, I do enjoy soda, but I can't drink soda very much, because of the high phosphorus count. The only kind I can go for is the non-cola kind. Like Sprite, Mountain Dew, etc. Pepsi, Coke, and other similar sodas are off limit.
The only time I drink is when I'm at work, or eating out.
the only types of soda i find worth drinking a can (or glass) a day are dark-liquid ones. Sprite or 7 Up are just alternatives. i like them cold, so i would only drink them, having known they've been cooling off in the fridge just waiting for me :cool: .
now i just drink more water than soda. i just keep a fresh bottle in the fridge to keep it cold and i'm just refill when they're empty, then drink some more, xD. whenever there are other sweet beverages i can find (apple/orange juice), i would drink about 2-3 cups a day.
I actually don't care too much for soda. I'll have it every so often, but I really prefer water or milk.
And what kind of irks me is when people drink "fruit juices" and they say it's great for them.(not all people of course xD) Most of them, really aren't. If you read the ingredients list, more times than not, there will be corn syrup in it. (ewwies ><) If you're drinking a juice with that in it, you might as well be having soda!
I used to drink between 2-4 litres of Coca Cola each day for about a year. I was just so darn addicted to that stuff, I would get withdrawal symptoms when I didn't have any. Sometimes, upon getting the 2 litre bottle, I would just sit there cradling it like a newborn baby before opening it. I think it was like a comfort thing for me or something.
Anyway, it didn't do me any noticeable damage. I'm one of those high metabolism persons who stays skinny no matter what they chuck down their throats. And my teeth are still shiny and white! Nowadays, I still have the occasional glass of it, but I mostly drink water and milk.
I'm not addicted to soda, but I do have an addictive personality. Also, I find it difficult to get through a lot of work late at night without a bottle of soda, but I haven't had any of those nights for a while now.
