Metal Gear Solid 4 at E3

The trailer, primarily. We won't actually see it until May 9 at the earliest, of course, but the first ninety seconds of its audio were "leaked" today on the Kojima Productions English podcast. You can find the episode containing it here, along with a helpful translation. MGS fan koyuga has also integrated the sound and text into an audiovisual file for ease of consumption, which you can find here.

For fans who couldn't stand to wait another four days to begin their fevered speculation on the latest exploits of Solid Snake, Happy Hannukah.

Yeah, I saw this at another forum today. VERY interesting stuff. I can't wait untill E3 just for this.

I just want them to say that all parts of the game engine are running on the SPEs because so far only the graphics engine has been confirmed. We've yet to hear about real-time audio, A.I., and input functions.

Next week is going to rock!

Maybe Meryl was just like Rose to Raiden, like, uh, she was sent in to act a certain way to make Snake like her and get close to her or something. And she never died at all because she's a trump card for the baddies! O_o

MGS2 hints that Snake and Meryl shacked up for a bit and then broke it off sometime after MGS1.

All this time I thought he stayed behind and got blown up Mirth/Merriment damn you Kojima and your sexually attractive scripts.

Wonder what the break was all about... I might have to spend 600 dollars just for this game. What do they call it? Fanboy Syndrome? Yeah I'm diseased with it.

So many people are trying to access the Kojima Productions E3 site in anticipation of the trailer that it's loading rather sporadically. If you can't get to it, here's what the MGS4 section looks like as of now.

Rayden looks too much like Ninja....................I think he's the one slashing soilders down, wicked:)

I was told this would be the game that wraps up the series, does this mean that this will be the last in the Metal Gear franchise?

It's set to be the last game in the main plotline. After that, they're still free to make side-stories (Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops) and games that take place in alternate continuities (Metal Gear: Ghost Babel and the AC!D series).

The trailer was bad ass. I am pumped.

Are we supposed to believe Raiden has become a badass after all these years? I like the whole Middle East setting and the cast of returning characters. I think this will be a fitting end to the storyline. 2006? 2008? 2007. Haha.

Well I've got a theory:

When S.Snake has his gun in his mouth someone interrupts him (probably Meryl). Snake won't kill himself I'm sure.:choc2:

I think Kojima has already stated that Snake doesn't kill himself or die at the end of the game. This is just the last game in Snake's storyline.

MGS4 is gonna rock!

I watched it three times. I'm digging the story so far too.

The website kept saying it was busy...

And I finally got it work to watch it, but it was so pretty I couldn't pay attention to what was going on, aagh.

I wonder if it really will be a huge simulated city sorta deal, or more like linear rooms of the past. Coz they made the jungle from 3 look like it was ginormous at first, but it was mostly the same... Personally, I like to know where to go and what to do, so I don't think a huge place would float me, but eh my Fanboy allows me to cope with anything.
