Thats not FF and Dragonquest.
I'd have to say Lufia. I was awe inspired by the beggining of the first one. Maxim rawx.
EDIT: The fortress of Doom is my favorite.

Star Ocean, especially The Second Story.
Phantasy Star and Suikoden>All RPG series, anybody who says differently is already branded as a moron.
Eh, I'd have to say that Paper Mario is the best RPG series.
Grandia, Breath of Fire and Suikoden.

Grandia, Dark Cloud, Phantasy Star, Suikoden.
Lufia started off so good it was amazing. Lufia 1 and 2 were absolutely awesome.
However... the next two games, on the Gameboy, were atrocious.
Still, Lufia gives me a fuzzy warm feeling inside. :p
Probably the Tales of series, mainly for the fact that they offer what most other RPG's I like do, but with a sweeter battle system. The Marios RPG's are right up there too.
I'm grouping all of tri-Ace's games into the same 'series', because they're all awesome. :cat: And probably 'Tales' too.
O.o... how could you forget the Seiken Densetsu series?
Do Nippon Ichi games count since they're all interconnected? Or will I just have to say Disgaea?
Lufia one was decent, Lufia 2 was awsome. Breath of fire series was good, havn't played four yet, but 2 was the best and dragon quarter kind of sucked. Best RPG Series however is definately Xenosaga. Looking forward to volume three more than a crack head looks forward to crack.
Suikoden tops them all.
Although most of the mentioned ones fall into my top ten as well.
Suikoden is the best RPG series ever made. Lunar is also an awesome series.
FF and Zelda
no other series can top that:choc2: :choc2: :choc2:
Elder Scrolls.
FF
Disgaea is so awesome its its own series ;)
Drakengard being my faveorite series.
The answer is lufia.
Almost forgot Soul Blazer, but the first wasn't that good. Illusion of Gaia/Time, the second instalmand, was awsome. Then the third, Terranigma, was quite fun. To bad it only was on the SNES. Future releases might have turned out to be awsome.
Shadow Hearts, Grandia, BoF, Suikoden, Broken Sword, Monkey Island and Legend of Legaia.
Elder Scrolls, Zelda, Fire Emblem, plus the good ol FF are my favs
I also like the Guild Wars series.
The answer you're searching for is Suikoden. You don't even need to exclude FF and Dragon Quest to get that answer - it's still the best.
Disgaea counts as a series! Disgaea II is out in Japan, so there are more than one.
besides FF? I'd probably would say fire emblem and breath of fire.
Apart from FF is definately Suikoden.
my top 4 are:
Suikoden
Dragon Warrior
FF
Grandia
I'm a bit more ol'skool in my rpg and strategy game choices, because the old ones are a lot more strategic than the new ones. IE, I can get pwned by random encounters in FF4, but in FFX, I could take down the biggest bosses with relative ease (esp if you leave the default help screen on). I want to fear for my virtual life when going into a dungeon, not be thinking of other things and only half paying attention.
I likes the strategery.
Come on now, what website is this, what web site is this? you don't know It'ss an FF site so it's Final Fantasy and if you say otherwise, I'll have to kill you all with my gunblade revolver.
No-one's mentioned Wild ARMs yet :p But Tales of is still my favourite :p

side note. What makes a game a series. Some of the game people are saying only have one title. Wouldn't it need at least 3 games to be a series?
Which game her has only had one title?Quote:
