My sister named her baby Rinoa... any thoughts?
Not really, seeing as I never think.
...fair enough
Rinoa eh? I guess she'll have a fantasy for scar-face.
your sister or her final fantasy loving boyfriend?
I think rinoa is a pretty name:D
Personally I don't like the idea of naming children after video game characters, but Rinoa is quite a nice name in its own right, so it's perfectly acceptable.
That's sort of hideous... in a strange way. Because it's actually an OK name. Although it's sounds too much like... something. Like tools or something.
Course, won't it ruin FFVIII for her, if she comes to play it? It'd be too strange having such an important character have the same name.
I think its a lovely name! ^___^
Imagine if you didn't know what Final Fantasy was
And then look at the name 'Rinoa'
I think its cute

Thought you'd like to read that, Its scary.
BUT
Rinoa is different. That is a good name for a child. Sephiroth is not.
Thats mega cool man. The kids going to be retro material once she gets to school!
I never really liked the name Rinoa, but atleast it isn't entirely weird. I know a girl named Aaris (said like some American's say Aeris) but she was named after an aunt.
My sister, I don't think he had ever played Final Fantasy VIII until he met her.Quote:

I just hope she doesn't end up being possessed by some witch from the future and ending up in a coma for most of the time.
Well I think naming kids after computer game characters is wrong. But Final Fantasy aside, Rinoa isn't a bad name.
i don't think i would personally name my child after a video game character...but it is a good name.
If there's any irony in the world, she'll have a huge nose.
Yeah, Rinoa isn't too bad of a name. It's pretty.Quote:

There's nothing wrong with naming your kids after video game characters. I intend to name my firstborn Donkey Kong, so good for you!
And your second born? xDQuote:

Rinoa works on its own, with or without knowing its FF "source."
Eh, it's a fine name. She could've picked a worse one. My fiance wants to name our first daughter after a Zelda character. :p
Rinoa isn't the worst video game name out there. There's always Zell's Fists of Fury.
edit:
There's this cool boss named Twinmold.Quote:

Rinoa is a decent enough name and unless someone is into video games, specifically FF, no one is going to even know that she was named after an FF character. :cat:
OMG I have an e-friend who named his son (now a year old), Squall.
They could date someday.
Rinoa's a pretty name but... err.. Squall is not.
A squall means great gust of wind, right?
I've never played Zelda before but I think Saria is a pretty name.Quote:

I'm going to name my kid emerald weapon. NO LIE!
I remember in year 7, I was on the Student Council, and each of us had a 'buddy class', which we went to on Tuesday arvos and got all their suggestions. There was a little asain girl in the class called Rinoa. She would have been born before Final Fantasy VIII, so I don't think there was any connection. But I think Rinoa is a pretty name :D
Most of those are comman names anyway.Quote:

Calling her Yuffie, Questis or Celes....now that would be kinda sad
Yuffie or Quistis is uncommon and not that pretty xD But Celes is a really pretty name! I always liked the name Celeste, and Celes = Celeste except without the t ;)
^_^ I think so too ^_^:DQuote:

It's a very pretty name! Regardless of whether it comes from a game character or not -- could've easily been the other way round, what?
Maybe 12 years later, I get to name my kid:
Boy: Amarant - I will paint his hair Red and I will put clown's nose to his nose and I'll let he fight with Zinedine Zidane instead Zidane Tribal.
Girl: Ultimecia or Edea - I will make-up her face and I will input some new trend and I will send her to Hogwarts to learn magic.
Believe me, Ultimecia is a great name!
Id Name My BaBy Girl Yuffie
