It did have a pretty basic story, but wasn't it cute as hell? I loved the entire play (or what you we saw of it). Blank, was great and he is definitely one of the coolest characters ever. I don't know, I was listening to the music from that particular scene, and I got inspired to make this thread. Any thoughts on the show "I Want to Be Your Canary"? Sorry for my abrasive obsession...but I just love this game. Urgh! I may have to get some help or whatever.

When it got to the end of the game and I found out why my first reaction was relief. "Ah it makes sense now!"
I dont mind not seeing the entire thing since I watch Shakespeare so its pretty easy to fill in the holes.

I Want To Be Your Crow is far better than I Want To Be Your Canary.
I literally have a file saved at the beginning of the game which I just duel the hell out of Blank and Zidane.
I liked the play "I want to be your canary", and it was a fun way to start (and end) the game. Some parts reminded me a bit of Shakespeare. I also wish I'd have seen the whole story, although you'll probably get most of the story even with the scenes Square made. And yeah, the music during the play is excellent, it's orchestra-style and dramatic. :love:

Well, both, really. Since the last part is a continuations of the one at the beginning of the game.
I thought the part that plays at the end of the game happens, in terms of the play's chronology, before the events in the beginning, considering the play in the beginning has both Marcus and Princess Cornelia die.Quote:

I LOVED "I Want to be Your Canary"! I thought it was an utterly inspired way to open and end the game. For a start, I loved the fact that there was a play called "I Want to be Your Canary". How random and brilliant is that!?! And yet, in retrospect, it's not so random: as Garnet is a "caged canary" at the beginning of the game, who longs for freedom - with all the symbolism of her sadly watching the birds fly away from the castle (happens again at Lindblum castle)....
The play was obviously based on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". The playwright's name, "Lord Avon", is another obvious reference to Shakespeare - who was born in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
I also loved the fact the Kuja, the well-read and literate villain, oft quoted from the play. Especially his use of the word "canary" as an endearment when talking to Garnet.
And yes, the existence of "I Want to be Your Crow" is funny, too! I wonder if there's an "I Want to be Your Partridge"....
All in all, the play delighted me.
