I love this show. The story is actually original and very well-written besides; even the throwaway filler episodes are highly entertaining.

...Although the symbolism has probably been dissected to the point where everything is obvious.
I feel it was one of the best animes ever made. But now I hate reading psychological thrillers because I can never find anything quite as psychologically facsinating as this.
I owe several of my current intrests to this show.
Yeah, I don't think there's any fact involved. But it's still a really great show. THIS is why I'm still pretty interested in anime. Even though I haven't seen the whole thing, and obviously haven't spent enough time with it to understand it yet, it's great. I loved the episode with the three suicidal people.
The whole Li'l Slugger/Shonen Bat phenomenon was derived from actual incidents in Japan of schoolkids committing murders with baseball bats and so forth. And in Japan, in the interest of protecting a perpetrator's privacy, he'll only be referred to publically by way of a pseudonym such as "Shonen A."
Paranoia Agent has no basis in fact when it comes to specific circumstances, of course, but many of its integral plot points do bear some pretty significant influences from modern Japanese society.
iv been looking and i found out that in kobe japan an unknown 15 year old boy was cought after brutaly beating a middle aged man to death w a bat and linked him to other murders so i thank i found my lil slugger

This is one of the best anime ever made. The concepts were very original. It ranks right up there with shows like Bebop.

One of my favourite animes (although I havn't finished watching it :OOOO) Fantastic. My favourite episode (so far) is the one where they think they've caught Shogan Bat (Yeah I have the Japanese version ;) So Subs FTW!!) but its the guy obsessed with RPGs xD And they police man and his assitant end up going through all the attacks in an RPG :D So funny.
If people like this I advise you go watch Monster, although Monster is a hell of a lot bloodier its a fantastic psycho thriller. Awesome ^^
My favourite episode is (SPOILER)the one where Lil' Slugger meets the detective's wife she's awesome.
The show is great to watch, and I do believed its based somewhat on fact, but the stories themselves is not real

What? That the actual character from this anime exists? How can you when its an anime? Murders have been occuring since the dawn of time and yes baseball bats have been used as lethal weapons. But saying your going to track down this li'slugger is ridic cause the kid doesnt exist. Its just a bunch of sick people killing others with baseball bats, nothing more. Thats the only connection to the anime, people die by baseball bats.

I preffer the sound of Lil slugger too Shonen bat, but thats just me. I think the dub is just fine, no real problems. However it is funny in AMV Hell three when the have clips of people getting hit by lil slugger to Batman, and it ends the clip with the words Shonen Batman.

I was sick one day so I watched the entire series in one sitting, and it was pretty nuts. The episode with the four women gossiping is probably my favorite. The three suicidal people was almost as good. In the end, I liked the series but I feel obligated to hate it. After all, this is a show where a...no, I don't even want to get into it.

I was really in love with this show last summer when Adult Swim first ran it. I like rewatching it, too, though I haven't watched it in order, or watched it with so much attention as before, so it hasn't been as good. I'd like to really sit and watch it with full attention sometime again.
I like the show. I think its really good. But it would come in late at night and sometimes freak me out. [certain episodes]
But, overall, its a good anime.
And the opening and the ending themes are the best.
