Well, this a tough decision. I would like to bound around with the agility that a Cat has. But where I live, lot's of people hate Cat's, an try an torture them. So if I had to live around here an go out, it wouldn't be safe. So based on that, I'd be a dog. I'd be a Chow Chow dog, I would be cute an cuddly, yet ferocious. Hopefully I could have some sort of doggy door built, so I could go out an tear the Cat killers to pieces of an evening. By a miraculous stroke of luck, nobody would be able to trace the vigilante activity back to me. They'd assume it was a werewolf, an would hopefully kill some hairy people I don't like, because being hairy, they appear suspect.

I would probably choose to be a cat. The cats I've encountered really have it made. They get free food and free shelter, and don't have to do anything at all to pay for it! That would be pretty cool. Of course, it wouldn't be that fun living with a family that doesn't take good care of pets. I guess it would suck not being able to do anything about that.
edit: I couldn't figure out what the hell Walter Payton had to do with cats or dogs until I exited this thread and remembered how it was titled. heh.

I voted dog, but I am not really sure about it. There are pros and cons for both.
I'd say cat you can be cute then when people walk by you can attack thier feet. Then roll over and they will just go "awww".

I'd rather be a cat. Cats have more control over where they go and what they do. You don't OWN a cat: it simply stays at your house. Dogs are better companions, and I would rather have a dog for a pet, but cats have more freedom.
I hate cats, I choose dog. Dogs are way cooler in my opinion anyway.
I'd rather be a cat as they are way too cool, ever watch Red Dwarf season 2? (silly question I know) the alternate reality where everyone is female? ROFL that was brilliant I think that episode cleans this argument out completely. Plus as a bonus I am already halfway to being Cat from Red Dwarf (or a white english version in any case) I just don't have to be physically dragged from the mirror yet if I catch myself in it.
