Intro: a userbar is a personalized banner with 350 pixel x 19 pixel dimension. Due to its size, multiples can be "stacked up" to the maximum allowed height, so to speak.

I have seen them before, but won't bother using them myself. Hard enough getting my sigs to fit without another 10-20kb being taken up by the userbar.

I just made it. it's very stylish looking i guess. But i'd stick to big sigs because it's hard to stick some big images into it and still show what the image is.
I made one too, I think it is looking good, but like atlanteay has said they don't fit big images, or even small ones. anyway here's mine:

They aren't supposed to contain any more than 1 image, if not none. Its supposed to tell a hobby that you do, or along the lines of that. Like "Firefox User" or "BitComet User."
Oh, I see so they are kind of used like Media, ha?. I didn't know about that. mine didn't resymbl anything.

yes, i know they only contain graphics like things you own or use. But just those stuff is not enough. Say you want a picture in it, you won't see almost anything but the little bit shown. That is its downfall.

i'm assuming N-Sane Photoshop Tutorials? wish they make a new picture format that has png quality and supports animation. The GIF can ruin great animations.
exactly owen, the smallness limits the amount of pictures used.
I think if they contain no images but small animating text, they would look alot better...
Like typing something that flash in big letters but not making the background too busy.

What I do for the glass effect is cut out what I want to be glassy with the lasso tool, and then I copy it to a new document and change the lightness of it, so its lighter, and then I past it on the original picture.

use a circle marquee and then make that shape. Use the black->white gradient and drag from top to bottom. Then change the blending mode to screen.
It doesn't take long at all my way. Theres many ways to do it.
I do the first half but use an only white gradient. I lower the opacity of the layer instead of putting it on screen. I will try all the ways and use the easier.Quote:

Although, just a suggestion, the glass may look better if you drag it out from the edges, if you know what I mean. But they are good.
