It's unknown at this time. It's equally likely that they'll reuse the old script or get a new one. *cue Michael Belmont saying that the guy who translated SO3 will translate this* I personally couldn't care either way, as long as they properly name the spells/summons and give me another letter space so I can fit 'Cayenne'* in there.
*But it's unlikely...
I could care less. I liked the old dialogue and the names on the SNES version were fine with me.
I perfer to look at naked sprites so I REALLY want the uncut version!
Just kidding.
see is that I have never played this game before. Is there like a big difference between the psx and snes version? scriptwise? which one you guys liked more?
The PS1 version pretty much uses the same script that Woosley did for the SNES version, with some minor tweaks (fixing up the Veldt Cave scenario dialogue, and so on). For this reason, some people are sick of the script and would enjoy a brand new script.
There is no difference between the two versions, as far as script goes. Well, they did change "Vicks" to "Biggs"
EDIT: >_>
There are indeed a few minor tweaks.
Edit: <_<
I hope they make a new one then...
Well I hope they rewrite it but keep it censored, Kefka just wouldn't be the same if hate hate hate hate hate would be replaced by the f-word.
i'm hoping they re-translate it as best they can, like they did with FFIV. i hope siren has a naked arse, i hope pearl is called holy and maybe some scenes will have more depth due to square taking a lot more care with translations these days.
Assuredly, the proper names of spells/weapons/espers(Kitten Sith!!), and Ultima Weapon* will be used, they were used for FFI/II/IV, so I don't see why not.
*ftw!
They musn't musn't musn't change Kefka's lines
But aside from that it would be nice if some other things were changed ie: "I can't remember anything...past or present." I mean, WHAT? How can you remember something in the present?
So what makes FF6 worth getting if you've played most of the others? What makes it special? I would like to know wheter it will be worth the 30$ i'll be putting down to get this for my GBA.
It most definitely will be worth your $30, no matter what. The only way they could make it not worth $30, is to ship empty cartridges.
It's the best one, that's what makes it special.Quote:

If they give it a new translation that sucks, I won't be in favor of it. Woolsey's localization changed the names of things (not all of that was his fault, Nintendo's policy at the time was no profanity, sexuality, drugs or alcohol, religious material or excessive violence) but his script gave the characters... well... character. If someone can outdo that I'll be impressed and happy. But if they give it a new script just for the sake of giving it a new script, I'll probably just stick to my SNES cart.Quote:

I want a new script that completely changes the story dynamics without changing any event in the story. It would be like playing the same game with completely new plot in the exact same fashion!
oh, and bring back the Czar Dragon
Final Fantasy VI is possibly the best Final Fanasy game. It has the largest cast of characters and they are all interesting, possibly the most loved villian (Kefka), it is one of the longest FF games, and the story is so good! You kind of have to play it to understand its beauty. It's an amazing game!Quote:
