whoops wrong game
Well, this game has professions too. :D
My favorite nongeneric profession is Holy Swordsman.
My favorite generic profession is Knight. Although I like Math Skills more, Calculators have among the worst stats in the game.
My favorite profession is Archer, the caqn attack you from very long distances and have a lot of range
My Favorite Special Job, it has to be Holy Knight. Just Because.
As for my generic Jobs....Knight, Monk, Lancer, Wizard.
summoners are great characters once they're leveled up. they're my favorite profession.
Teaching Zodiac to all my Summoners was a chore, but the Summons are awesome.
Calculators. That's not to say I keep a character as a calculator after he's learned the math skills, but those skills alone are uber enough to be worth the effort.
Knights.
Summoners.... and Calculators
if Orlandu is a Holy Knight (i dont remember, been a while) then yeah just like everyone else i like it, cause it pawns all
otherwise i like ninjas and lancers
Normal play- I would have to pick Holy Swordsman (aka Orlandu job), I love the stats and the job command skills.
Gamesharked- Probably Elmdor's Angel of Death class, I love Gravi 2 and other things. Next to that is Elmdor's Arc Knight class...but I didn't like how they locked his skills when you use him.
My personal favorite is a Knight/ninja. MMM two Chaos blades or even Choas blade and Excalibur :rolleyes2 :D
Call me a nerd all you want, but Im a sucker for the black mage class. Its just so sentimental.
Holy Knight was my favourite nongeneric class.
After guns become available, chemist started getting.... fun. Dragoon had jump and ignore height.... can you imagine, I sent my dragoon over walls that I'm stillwondering how she climbed.. but oh well.
I still perfer the lancer for they can hit both long and shortrange with devastating strength.
I hate when you say things like this!
Zodiac isn't that great anyway. I only got it for bragging rights. You could just as easily use Cyclops or Bahamut.
How do you get more than one person to get Zodiac? When I get in there against Elibdis and his buddies, I have one summoner with that Support ability that makes you take damage to your MP first, so my Summoner can actually survive it. I have my other four guys killing Apandas and ugly old guys. Perhaps if I came in at a ridiculously high level, I might be able to bring in 5 Summoners... But the prospect of no physical attack power is scary.
It would be nice if you could cast summons on your own party, just for the sake of teaching Zodiac to others.
But, on topic, I like the Monk best. They can hit hard, and have a very diverse skillset, from devasting moves like Earth Slash, to happy fun moves like Chakra. Honestly, their pure attack is more powerful than Earth Slash, Repeating Fist or any other. Earth Slash is just nice because it can hit more than one guy, and when you hit 4 or 5 guys with it, well, it looks awesome.
As far as non-generic, I like Astro-guy. I can't remember if it's Astronomer or Astrologer, so I'm going with Astro-guy Olan Durai. I mean, Galaxy Stop. Seriously. When I first saw, I was begging God or Saint Ajora or whoever to have this guy join my team permanantly.
Don't hate me Feion. :greenie:
In my game only Ramza learned Zodiac directly from Elidibs. I lowered his Faith with Solution until the damage was minimal.
To teach Zodiac to my other human units, I went into the second level of Deep Dungeon and kept resetting until I got a random battle involving at least one enemy Summoner. Then I killed off the other enemy units, except for one, and blasted the Summoner with Solution. Once the Faith was low enough I'd hit that Summoner with Zodiac so he'd learn it, then kill him. He'd drop a life crystal 50% of the time, and if he did I'd have my Summoner walk over it to pick up Zodiac.
By repeating this method I taught Zodiac to every human unit. It was very time consuming, but I wanted a 'perfect' game that badly.
I would agree that the Astrologer's Galaxy Stop is the best unavailable skill set.
Yeah, but given my experience with learning Ultima and Zodiac, I decided to do it this way. Enemy units prefer not to cast spells like that unless they have to.
I think Arc Knight(Zalbag) and Lancer are pimp. Those ruin skills are awesome although never used and spears, jumping really high, and smashing through opponents skulls with your spear from above is way cool.
Agrias (Holy Knight). And nobody can resist Thunder God Cid (Holy Swordsman...well, not too much of a difference in name). Well, I like all the knights/swordsmen that join your party.
For normal classes, I love Ninja! I just have a thing for dual-wielding, I suppose.
Hey, does it increase the chances of learning a skill like Zodiac if you are a Summoner when you pick up the crystal? I mean, I've had Squires learn Charge +2 from a Chemist crystal, so I know anything can happen, but if you use your method and get the crystal, are yo more likely to get if you are summoner yourself?
There's a random factor involved and there have been times I didn't get Zodiac from the crystal, even with a Summoner. But I think having a Summoner may necessary in this case. It certainly is the case with the other 'Blue Magic', Ultima, that Ramza has to be a Squire to pick it up.
White Mage <3 Now if only Ramza would wear the white mage dress like everybody should.
Monk, Lancer, and Ninja
