THAT'S TOO COOL. *stares in awe* They look great.
I am torn.
Woah, did charlie ever kick the football?
lol that's awesome.
That is absurdely awesome.
Um....wow.
That looks like garbage. I can't believe you people sometimes.
That looks like complete, if I may say so myself.
I hope the teacher speaks Engrish instead of in "wah-wah's" now. Where's Snoopy? I'm still waiting for Sesame Street Anime starring Big Bird as a ninja =(
Cool
Wow! That is great! Thanks!
As a Peanuts comic....no thank you. The design for all (Save Charlie Brown. I'm sorry, but that just looked wrong) looked quite good.
REally good! funny too! ^_^
What the hell? This is so stupid. Anime is great, but... this is just retarded.
LOL genji....
Riiight...
It's an interesting idea, and something intriguing, but hardly something for me to really look at awe and wonder with. And it just seems... absurd...
It probably doesn't help that I hated Peanuts.
I don't really like peanuts, but I adore these.
What........the.......hell........?
That's all I have to say.
Kinda weird and twisted if u think about it! u made em kinda look gay..
I don't like it, at all. They made Charlie look freaking mental, and half of the girls look like sluts. Making the Powerpuff Girls into an anime is one thing, but the Peanuts?
lol genji-the chicks looked just like u said they did..
It's not like they made an actual show, or manga. Some artist was bored and put out these babies. ^^ Don't have a cow.
I'm laughing heartily at the people freaking out here.
I don't like most of the character designs. I mean, having the same colour hair isn't nearly enough to count as a grown-up version of a character.
thats funny
You know those really cruddy "How to draw Manga" comics drawn by American's that overdue the 'anime' stereotype and look every other "How to draw Manga" done by other Americans? That's what it looks like. I can't stand the faces, that guy would be a great artist for the ten year olds, but the uniqueness is gone. Plus.. the peanuts got butchered in wannabe anime style... It just hurts..
What the hell ties old Franklin to young Franklin? The fact that he's black?
RACISM!! SUED!!
Godammit does EVERYTHING have to be anime these days?
Remember years ago when EVERYTHING had a lunchbox?
Anime is the lunchbox of the next generation. So is video games.
As for the designs in the post itself, I thought it was a cool concept. I watched Rugrats when they had the special episode where they were all older (the only episode I voluntarily watched), but apparently 'Rugrats' are now permanently older.
I laughed at the fact that Charlie Brown still had his hair issues, but wasn't incredibly impressed beyond that, just interesting to see how this artist thinks they would look as older people.
Whilst I don't want to question your infinitely evil wisdom, what's wrong with it?Quote:

Actually, I'm mad about the style, I'd prolly be one to take Peanuts and attempt to draw them in my style too if I was bored enoug, I just can't stand to look at pictures that look like they came from an American drawn "How to draw Manga" book. That style went through artists like the game "telephone" someone started to draw american like anime, then it would go to the next person, get more exagerated, and repeated that until you have a style that you can actually tell an american drew, it lost all individual style, because if you go to a bookstore, pick up one of those books, they'll look -just like- those peanuts pictures. =[Quote:

This, just like the comments in the livejournal, is split entirely two different ways, people saying it's either utterly amazing or utterly pathetic.
It's pretty amusing to read basically identical comments both here and on there.
I think it's kinda fun, the guy is a pretty good artist and it's not really something anyone should take seriously. I fail to see how Peanuts is being 'defiled' or 'ruined' or whatever, it's not like by creating this the original ceases to exist or loses anything of it's magic; it's just some random guy having a bit of fun drawing a cartoon he likes in an alternative style.
Holy crap.
Holy crap.
Once more, for emphasis, HOLY CRAP.
The art is unoriginal, but the idea isn't. Just freaky.
I thought they were great pictures. But the only people I could recognize were Pepermint Patty and Charlie Brown until I noticed the little drawings of the original characters! But jeez people, don't get all worked up over the pictures.
I wonder what a Rugrats anime would be like...*shutters*...Yikes...
Lindy posted an opinion...without insulting anyone. Wonders never cease.
And yeah, his post summarizes what I feel.
The only two times I've seen you post is commenting on me, umm, congratulations on having nothing better to do?Quote:

You wouldn't know Charlie Brown's attitude to life without the dialogue. He could look like anything and still be the same person, as long as the dialogue's the same. So the absence of dialogue here in the anime versions is the problem in not tying people together, rather than any particular artistic aspect. IMO.
After the Brady Bunch Kung Fu fighting game. Nothing surprises me. I wasn't all that big a fan of the original Peanuts. Though I did like them. I'm not appauled by this. The idea has merit and kudos to the person for trying it. For some reason I kinda like it. And I'm not even an obsessed otaku anymore. So I dunno why I like it. I just do..
Brady Bunch Kung Fu game?
Schultz is rolling around in his grave ><
Why, because someone liked his work enough to base their own stuff off it?
tee hee . . . Charlie Brown looks really freaky :D
It has nothing to do with subverting Peanuts characters for me. The artwork itself is simply of very poor quality, to the extent that it got to me to see a bunch of people unanimously singing its praises.
wow, if a buncha of random drawings freaked people out then i wanna see what happens if it turns into a cartoon series or something.
I don't condemn the guy for doing it, he's not a bad artist by any stretch of the imagination, although the style's hardly original. I know I couldn't draw anything near that, and I'm not freaking out about what someone chooses to do with their spare time. It's interesting, though not really in a negative or positive way.
It'd be really smurfing funny, I can tell you that much.Quote:

And I would like to see you run a fortune 500 company or be president of the USA and see how you handle the job. That arguement of yours only makes you look like a moron.
That said the drawings are not terrible but I wouldn't sing their praises...more like meh.
Charlie Brown also looks a bit too bad ass. He is suppose to be a pathetic scrub.
Maybe years of ridicule and failure made him toughen up and hate the world.
The drawings were ok but they don't look like the characters much. I like how Linus's blanket was replaced by a do-rag, though.
I liked the drawings, but they are kinda generic, as though you've seen them before. There's not much to tie in each character to their former versions, especially Franklin and Charlie. It's something interesting, but not exactly worthy of endless praise.
EDIT: Btw, where's Snoopy?
Boy the quotes not working bugs me... I quote like all that time:(
Anyways. They aren't Top line art, but they are above medicore in my eyes.
I like most of the designs; though I will agree there isn't much in the art itself linking them to thier old selves. But that isn't surprising you wouldn't have recognized me if I showed you a picture of me now and a picture of when I was in gradeschool. Heck my hair was blonde at one point(naturally darkened though I still get teased for it from time to time[read: I make sillly mistake, freind says "Hah he's still blonde deep down"]).
One way or the other it is better than I could do and was a fun stop :D.
....OMG!! Now if only it was actually a real show!
Those pics are really amazing!! And somehow the artist manage to stay true to the personality of the caracters.
Not bad, not bad at all! *two thumbs up*
Charlie Brown looks like a serial killer. How is that true to his meek personality?Quote:

Yeah, but Pig Pen, Schroeder and Franklin were essentially made into thugs (Albeit one with a keyboard). Pig Pen looks cool as a character, but as an homage....all three kinda disturb me.
He does look dirty...
I'm still amused.
Um...I guess you do have a point on that one. In that first one I didn't really recognize him...Quote:

But with the other characters-*eh-hem*-they all seem the same to me.
Peppermint Patty looks the same to me.
