I have never seen it up in the whole time ive been here, the Guestbook is down as well

I doubt it'll come back anytime soon. The SS have other things to do, like the FFIV section and vacations and EoY. I would think that coverage takes priotity over a small option that exists only for the benefit of the outside community.
No. Who the hell goes to the front site? I don't unless I need to create an e-mail account to sign up for something that doesn't allow on the fly e-mail like yahoo. EoFF bypasses those filters quite nicely.

I go to the frontsite when I want to go into chat.
I always go to the front site then click on the forums link. The news on the front site is interesting to read sometimes too. I never look at the polls so I didn't even know that it was missing :D
