does anyone actually add people??

does someone ever evoke enough interest that you want to talk to them on an IM program, or is the posting all you ever need?

Very rarely, but the few times I've actually make the attempt to talk to someone, good things have happened.

I use instant messaging for alot of my offline friends, and a few of my online ones as well. I like it much better than PM'ing.

I don't add people from here. I let them add me. Sometimes I regret that, but most of the time it's ok.

I add people to my ignore lists.

Usually if someone gets ahold of my messenger, I will bug them until they no longer want to talk to me. :greenie: I am a viscious, annoying girl. I like talking to people anywho, it doesn't take much to keep me interested in any conversation.

I converse more on IRC than anything, really. The occasional IM happens once every so often tho'

I have a whole category called EOFF on yahoo messenger for people from here.

I allow others to add me as they wish, as long as I have no ill feelings towards them; however, I am not one to add people to my list. Just isn't what I do, I guess...

I rarely add people, though I have a few times. It doesn't normally go well. I don't like chatting in large chatrooms because I like to talk one on one with people... no distractions and such. Though, if I'm chatting with somebody I know a little bit about from the boards it is tough for me to keep conversation interesting. (kinda odd, yeah?)

I never add people, as I never use any of the above programs. Google Talk, ftw!

...even so, I would still wait to be added. There are definitely some folks here that seem interesting and cool, but I'm much too shy to actually IM someone. That would involve having things to talk about. =\

I would like to add someone to my list, but I guess I think it'd be a little awkward to contact them directly. I don't have any pressing issues to discuss and there is no real reason to talk to them; maybe it's just a feeling that I have that I can't shake.

I don't know. I usually don't have a problem with these sorts of things, so it can prove to be a little difficult at times.

i never add people, unless its someone that i friends with.. thats rare.. i get people adding me :P

I have been known to add people on occasion.

I want more people! I had loads before but I was deleting contacts I hadnt heard from at all, so I have 5 and they are mainly family. But it would be nice if people want me as a contact.

Very occasionally I'll add someone on a whim, but I don't use IMs as often as some people. Usually, I wait for someone else to start a conversation rather than doing it myself.

I rarely add people, and when people add me, unless they are friends or someone close to me or have had my permission to add me then I delete and block them. I only talk to people I know. Not random people who I dont care about.

I used to add hundreds of people, now my list is large enough that I don't need to add anyone new. Instead, I wait for people to message me and then add them if they're interesting enough. Sometimes I'll get to know someone well on #eoff, though, and then I might add them on Y!M or AIM because of that.

Sometimes I will add someone if they interest me. I have yet to speak to anyone on this forum directly, probably due to the fact that I'm still considered a new guy. I have added a few people from other forums though, most of them are random adds and I do not talk to the person all that often.

I'm kinda anti-social and, uh, have a hard time conversing with people on a basic level. Even on the internet.

I have yet to meet a person from this forum that wasn't insane.

The more insane the better. Except when they go over the line and try cutting out your eyes with their toenails.
