Cosplaying is the kind of thing I don't want to object to, because, hey, if it's what makes you happy, then by all means, you should do it. That's how society says I should feel, anyway.
I went to Dragoncon last weekend. The first few minutes I was inside I had a sickening sensation I don't get very often. I felt ashamed that I was part of the human race. Frankly, I think a lot of the people who cosplay are pathetic. If you have the body, the general appearance, and the quality costume, it works for you. But the number of disgusting fanatics poorly dressed as their favorite fantasy/anime/whatever character was pretty off-putting.
So yeah, some people think it's fun, but it's just not the kind of thing I could ever, ever get into.
