Name your all-time favourite Mario Kart game, and tell us why you love it so.
My favourite Mario Kart would have to be Gamecube's Double Dash. Why? Well, the characters are excellent, the track design is spot on, the weapons are perfect and the difficulty curve is just right. I've had more fun with Double Dash than any other Mario Kart I've had the privilege of playing.
I'd have to go with Mario Kart 64, based on how much of my youth I spent playing that game with friends and on my own. It may not be the best in the series, but I loved it to death and played it for years and years.
I think probably Double Dash.
Diddy Kong Racing beats every Mario Kart game ever made.
Super Mario Kart, because it was my first Mario Kart game, and so my fondest memories of the series come from that. They're all good games, though.
Mario Kart DS, it has tracks from the old games, and it has online play

Either the 64 or the super one. I didn't really like double dash or the gameboy one.
Super Mario Kart gets the gold.
The original is still the best followed closely by Mario Kart 64. DS was pretty fun from what I played as well. Double Dash was crap though as far as I'm concerned.

The exception is the Rainbow Road layout. Super Mario Kart's Rainbow Road > Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road.
Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road had a crazy shortcut that let you jump off the side of the road and cut off almost half of the course. I don't know if there were any other shortcuts that could even compare to that in any of the other Mario Karts, but I loved trying to pull that one off.

Actually, I never really got into any of them.
I've never played anything but the original, so I must say that.
Gotta be DS... it takes all the good things about the older one and smashes them all together in a smorgasborg of hot kart action.

My favorites are the Snes and DS ones. I wish they'd put the feather back, though, it allowed pretty crazy stuff in the original game.

Mario Kart DS has the best feel. It's the only Mario Kart game I've been able to stomach, and it has thoroughly impressed me.
At least they still let you jump in Mario Kart 64. I was ready to throw my controller down in disgust when I realized that Double Dash not only took that out, but got rid of the ability to look behind your kart. I wish those were my only problems with the game too. Nintendo dropped the ball in a big way on that game.Quote:

64 and DS versions. 64 because of the amount of fun you can have with a few friends and DS because of internet play and the new courses. But I hate Snaking! Oh how much I hate Snaking!
