EoFF Classic Banner Competition 2006 - Round Two Voting

Voting Rules

You are allowed a maximum of three votes.
The first two votes MUST be for different people - You can not ONLY vote for one person if you have more than one vote (eg. You can't only vote Loony BoB A and Loony BoB B - if you do want to vote for both of them, you must vote for someone else's banner submission as well). This is to avoid people pushing by name rather than by banner quality.
All votes should be PM'ed to myself - Award Guy.

Keep in mind when voting that this banner will be at the top of EoFF Classic for a significant period of time - most likely it will be a minimum of one year. If you want to see what any of the banners below will look like in EoFF Classic, click on the banner and you will be given a screenshot of the banner in use with the style.

At the moment, the deadline for voting in the first round is is Saturday 30th September, 12pm, GMT (UK time) / 4am, PST (California time). Approximately 6 banners will go through to a third round, of which the Staff will pick from when deciding which should be the banner for the coming years.

Joke banners get through but ones people worked hard on didn't? That's kinda insulting and makes this look like a popularity contest if you ask me.

What, there's no joke banners. Ed's banner is not really a joke banner, if that's the one you're aiming for. A banner doesn't always have to be three FF characters blended with various details, but I don't see Ed's banner winning in the end anyway. I don't see it past this round, actually. All of the really good ones made it through to this round, and the ones who didn't get this far were never going to win in the end anyway. I don't know 'bout everyone else, but I'm voting for the banners I like, not the banner makers.

I know I voted for the banners I liked best.

I know I voted for the sexiest people. There are no joke banners :p Ed's banner wasn't even in round 1, it's just there because of some rule that had to do with something about last time this competition was held, or something XD

But. But! Where's Shlup's banner? :(

Hey now. My banner went on to the final round last time if I am not mistaken. I know it made it to the second round for sure.

I'm not insulting you, ed, its just, its not the right size, its the wrong colors, and theres no creativity in it, so if it is indeed your best work, I apologize, but I find it hard to believe that its a serious banner for a competition when I saw plenty of others that got the cut in the last round.

It isn't the same size because it was the exact one I submitted last time and I think the restriction might have been a bit different then.

No creativity? Effort I can understand but outside of aisle_s and maybe a couple of others they all use the same exact colors and style.

Also this banner has been offically used on the site before...even it was just because they were doing an upgrade :D

I thought it was the main character from FFXIII.

Seeing how they're both cloud clones, it can't make much difference.

The character on the irght on my banner is the main female character of the upcoming FFXIII.

So in a sense, I have characters from three different generations of Final Fantasy. :D

First Generation: Red, White, & Black Mages - Final Fantasy
Second Generation: Zell - Final Fantasy VIII
New Generation: Female Cloud clone - Final Fantasy XIII

Unless I'm looking at the wrong one, thats a male, and doesn't look anything like cloud >.> unless somewhere in one of the sigs "lightning" from XIII(or some name like that, thats what I last heard anyways) is the female, who somewhat resembles cloud.

As for Ed's sig, i'll just drop it, not worth arguing when it takes not too much effort to see the difference between it and the others. This isn't meant to be offensive Ed, so please don't take it that way.

The 2005 style is default. Most of the 15,000 people using it don't even know.

Sorry the classic version is much better than the default. I have no idea why you guys introduced it in the first place. I think the colors with the classic style is easier on the eyes, and it just looks better all around. Plus, Auron gives me **** when I see him these days, so the newer setting is out.

2005 style looks like someone smeared [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img] all over my computer monitor...literally. Browns = [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img] stains.

The 2005 style does indeed suck. The people who use it obviously have something wrong with their brains.

my main beef with the 2005 style is how narrow it is.

I like using fluffy puff every now and then, it's pretty sweet.

I was disapointed to not see ff7+ff10gurl100 A, rubah B, & Khaotic A's not make it..

For "Eyes" on Final Fantasy it is a wonder that no one used Rikku's Al Bhed eyes on artwork. PRetty unique in terms of eyes and FF :D

As for now, six banners are starting to break away from the rest, finally, which means they'll be the likely finalists unless there's a late surge of votes in another banner's favour...

I don't much care for any of them. I almost like Jojo's but the color isn't quite right.

:-* Color can be easily fixed, just like Proto's text can easily be fixed~ I shoulda put it up against the real background like Bawb did though when I made it ^_^ Oh wells.

PS, EoFF 2005 does own EoFF Classic xD And Fluffy Puff owns it too. *usually switches between 2005 and fluffy puff*

There were a lot of beautiful ones IMHO, but the bluish theme has been soo overused already!

I voted for the ones with something else in addition to pleasant aesthetics.

This is a great selection, although to be honest I preferred rubah's A to her C, and Arrianna's C to her A. Still, I'd be very happy to have any of these adorn the classic style. Congratulations to all five of the nominees. :)

I have to admit I'm surprised my "A" is the one that made it. With all the comments about "C" I thought if any of them did it would be that one. I am not surprised that Both of asle's is in the running though. It was a unique idea.

I am. It was a unique idea, yes, but considering all the other great banners up for nomination (and better fitting banners frankly), I'm a little dissappointed both of those got selected considering it's basically the same banner for both.

Congrads to all the finalists though.

It's silly that Proto submitted his B banner at all, since Cid already said that he would veto it if it gets to be the one the staff picks. Maybe if he hadn't done that, his A would have gotten through.

yay eyesonff classic. Yeah, I like blue and not brown better. Plus, I like the characters in the classic one better than the 2005 one, except Aeris.

I hope it'll be either the same one, Agent Proto B, or aisle_s B. Agent Proto A makes more sense considering where you guys are putting it, however, if you made the #'s links to the different sub forums, then I think that would be best. I wish he picked a different character than Zell though. You could probably do something similar with aisle_s's banners, and I think the blue, even though it's a little boring compared to the colorful one, it still looks cool and makes more sense with the color scheme of the rest of the layout.

After a lengthy debate we decided that, as none of the banners were concrete favourites in any way and as Leeza's banner was still a firm favourite to remain instead of having a new banner, each of the finalists will have 5-7 days sitting atop the forums before Leeza's banner returns.

I didn't notice there was no clear winner. I just came on and saw my banner on top. I thought I had won, but I didn't see any new thread or announcement. I was just caught off guard. Anyway, wouldn't it be more appropriate to make a new announcement to say what you guys are doing? Since there were no clear cut winner, the staff is giving each banner a week or so before returning back to Leeza's old banner. Wouldn't an it help clear some confusion? You know, just in case any members are confused about seeing a new banner.

I can't see any banner at all. Perhaps that is for the best.

Right now, one of the banners with all the numerals are up. I think it would be a good idea if each of the #'s linked to the forum about that FF. Good idea?

Basically some people on staff didn't want to tell you guys that none of the banners were good enough, so they decided to throw them up for a few days in order to not hurt any feelings. See how I said "they"?

There were definitely ones the Staff liked, none of us could agree on the same ones though. :p

I liked some of the ones that didn't make it into the finals, but I still think Leeza's is the best.

I also don't see any banner on top.

More importantly, stop using stupid programs that disable any url with "banner" in it. A good example being ZoneAlarm, which can have said feature removed by going to Privacy and turning off such things as Cookie Control, Ad Blocking and Mobile Code Control, all of which aren't really worth having on.
