Well I see so many people claiming that nearly everyone started with FFVII, I don't believe that, that many did. So let's see how many answer yes to this. (The fact it is in the FFVII section may tamper the results). My first was IX (IX rules!).

It was the first one I played. I got it when it first came out actually :jess:
Crap I accidently voted yes!
...
I feel really stupid right now.
Nice job goldenboco.....
Anyway, VII WAS the first I played but IX was my favorit.
Yeah, 7 was the first one I played all the way through. Technically, the very first one I played was 10, but it sucked so bad I didn't finish it. (I borrowed it from a friend, so no money lost there!) 7 was definitively a huge improvement. Mind you, I'm not saying it's the best but that it was far superior to my first FF encounter.
First played through X... 7 was second though :p
A good deal of people worldwide have had it as their first, but most certainly not everyone has. That's just a generalization. Just because it's the most popular doesn't mean that everyone has started with it, but a great many people have.
Yes,i fit the stereotype.
Actually FFVIII was my first FF and FVII was my second.
I beat IX first. Infact, I just beat VII for my first time last year. For a long time I was stuck on Jenova*LIFE, so I gave up. Then one day, I started playing again ang became stuck on Safer_Sephroth for a LONG time. I FINALLY beat him :)
No, Final Fantasy I was my first. :p
Yep, it turns out it was the first one I played.
FFVII was my first, and it's still my favourite of the ten main games. Now, according to the stereotype, it also means I am a drooling fanboy who only likes the game because Sephiroth is so very cool.
FF1. Whoo!
I was young when the game first out, a friend of mine introduced me, since then I've been a FF fan.
VII was my first Final Fantasy and to be honest I'm really glad that it was. No matter how many negative comments come out from the supposedly "hardcore" FF fans.
And yes I did go back and beat the older Final Fantasies, well IV-VI, I-II will be coming up shortly. So far VI is my favorite of the 2D games, with V being my least favorite of the entire series.
Well, X was the first one I ever played, but VII was the first one I ever beat... and only the second one I played. In fact, I hardly played X at all (only about 3 hours) the first time, and then I fell in love with FF, so I guess I should thank my lucky stars that my friend got that for her birthday and allowed me to play it. But yeah, VII was my second played and my first beat.
heck no, i was born BEFORE 1985
The first FF i've known was VII, but the first i played was VI!
The first one I played was Final Fantasy IV when it was called FF II.
Good times.:)
it was the first one of the series introduced to me. i've been around two male cousins and a brother for about half my life and most of my childhood, so i hung around when they played video-games. i was watching one of them finish up Zelda: A Link To The Past on SNES when one of my brother's friends introduced Final Fantasy VII by letting him borrow the game and the system. shortly after that, we got our own and i started playing the first RPG which i've stuck with for more than 50 hrs...
FFVII, which I got from a neighbor, was the first FF I ever played. It was also the only one I knew about until FFIX (it actually never occured that FFVII was part of a series). It is also my favorite (in fact, I'm replaying it right now).
Nope, ff8 was! :D I just played ff7 coz ppl always said it was the best ff! :)
My first was FF5. I am thankful for that, because it stopped me from becoming a rabid fangirl.
FFVII was my first. It was an orgasmic experience that opened my eyes to a whole new world of awesomeness. :p
I went backwards instead from IX.
id imagine because its the first 3D FF its what a lot of people started with. its the first one i played because of my cousin who had FF7,8 and 9. and he was really good at FF7. he had KoTR and the ultimate weapons and cure 3 linked up with counter attack so whenever i played even though i was really young stupid and rubbish at it, i still couldn't lose. i played a little around my cousins house but didn't really get deep into it but thats what made me think FF was good. i also saw some FF8 and 9 and thought they were awesome. so when i got a PS2 i got FFX with it and then i bough FF7 and 9. i forgot if i bought FF9 or first.
most fans seem to have an attachment to FF7 but its not really much more special than the other FFs. the first i played was FF7 but im not sure if that should count. the first i owned was FFX.
Nope, Final Fantasy IV was my first.
i played 7 first. my favourite is probably either 8 or 1
order of play:
7
8
9
6
10
4
5
1
2
10-2
here's in order i playied my ff games
7
8
9
6
10
10-2
That's exactlythe kind of sterotype Psychotic was talking about. Please stop that.Quote:

Final Fantasy IV was my first followed by FFI, then FFVI my favorite.
As a matter of fact, FFVII was not only the first Final Fantasy game I've ever played, but it was also the first RPG I've ever played. Before FFVII, I was really into Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, and Tekken. A really big fighting game freak.
Nope. My first one was VIII. VII was my second Final Fantasy.
Order went something like this:
VIII
VII
IX
IV
X
IV
V
X-2
Nope. My first one was Final Fantasy IV. :)
I was about to say no, then I remembered that I did!
In my uncle's girlfriend's parents basement there was a playstation with an FF game in it so I just turned it on, and I fell in love. Of course I didn't know I was supposed to save Jesse so I just died and didn't play for awhile. After that I got FFVIII, then I moved and lost FFVIII and FFVII, then I got FFVIII again and beat it, then FFX, then, finally, FFVII.
(Which I did not beat until AFTER FFX-2)
VI was my favourite. I played VII last (after X was released. I played X-2 after that, and the Tactics games, and Crystal Cronicles.). I didn't like it. I had to force myself to finish it.
The FF8 Pizza Hut Demo was the first one I played.
Yes, I'm a conformist bitch.
yeah it was the first i played. i had a friend who was a big RPG fanatic and we would always recommend eachother the Sega Genesis RPGs we played. He had an SNES too and always told me about the Final Fantasy games. When VII came out I had already had a Playstation and he told me I had to play VII, so he let me borrow it, I got to the Materia Keeper at Nibelheim then later bought my own copy and beat it.
But I think the whole "you only like it best because it was the first one you played" theory is wrong because Japan's magazine Famitsu has Final Fantasy X and VII as the two best games ever made in their fan-voted top 200 best games list.
Yes, it was the first FF game I have ever played.:)
FFIV was my first, back when I was six years old.
I played 2 player VI with my friend on his SNES about the time VII came out but I didnt get a PlayStation till VII was being released as a Greatest Hits. VII is still my favorite though.
order of play
VI
VII
VIII
IX
X
Tactics
V
IV
II
I
IV was my first, followed by VI, V, I, and then II in precisely that order...
But i havent gotten close to beating any of em, i got to the point where i got the lunar whale though in FF IV! whoo me
Nah, X was my first. Then VIII. Then IX. Then Tactics. Then VI. Then IV. THEN VII
The first one I played was Final Fantasy, for the NES. My parents refused to buy me video games, most of the time, so instead of owning FF2 for the SNES, I rented it every week until I beat it, and then the same for FF3. And I was in line at K-mart for about an hour, waiting to buy FFVII the day it came out. And I didn't even own a playstation yet. I rented a playstation for a month or two until my parents bought me one. And it sucked because obviously, I didn't own a memory card, which meant that if I died in a fight, I had to start completely over. Fortunately, I didn't die until I owned a memory card. I accidently stumbled upon the Midgar Zolom way too early on.
FF VII is the 4th FF game I played. FF IV was the first
No, but I got a Playstation a year before FFVII came out just to be able to play it. I had to make do with Beyond the Beyond for a year. Although the geometric flying machine was pretty cool.
My sequence:
FFIV (called FFII)
FFVI (called FFIII)
FFVII
FFVIII
FF Tactics
FFIX
FFV
FFI
FFII
FFX
FFX-2
I played FF VII first.
Yup, it was my first final fantasy game.
I played the start a few times (blow up the mako reactor) when my friend had the game and I hated it, but after I saw a cutscene of emerald weapon attacking junon, I bought it, so yes, first FF.. infact one of my first playstation games.. before that all I played was Soulblade.
I played FF7 first, and I loved it. I don't think Australia got any FF's before 7 anyways, and I probably wouldn't have liked them when I was young (was a big platform lover).
Nope, not for me. I started FFIX as my intro to the FF series, but completed FFX first back in 2002.
FFVII was the 3rd Final Fantasy game I completed.
No, FF1, I was dissapointed when I realized they weren't all that hard.
My order of play was:
FF9
FF10
FF8
FF7
So I played FF7 last.
It was my first PS game. I got them both for christmas when I was young and I thought it was dumb. I played it again at age 12 and thought it was cooler then. GO FFVII
the first one i played was VIII
First one was actually III. Then II, then IV, then VI, then VII, VIII, X, IX, X-2, V.
Yes, I do indeed fit the stereotype. My order was VII, VIII, X, VI, IX, then X-2.
I played X first, then VII, X-2, I, II, TA, and IV.
