I got called a noob today!

Im settling into univeristy, but I barely know anyone cause Im joining as a second year and everyone knows everyone already. So I was taken aback when my new friend Ellie called me a noob! I couldnt believe it.

I usually associate noob with World of Warcraft or Counter Strike, so hearing someone in the real world who doesnt play games call someone a noob, its abit bizzare! Well to me anyway.

I felt slighty offended, but couldnt stop laughing because it was their way of accepting me into their group. They said I'd get settleed in within a day or so, so Im nickednamed noob for now :D

I live in a house full of gamers. Yes, on a regular basis :p.

Since I'm in a computer games class, I imagine we will regularly be using terms such as "LOL", "n00b", "roflcopter" and "GTA is so overrated".

On my first day of an old job, me and all the other new employees were being showed around the store and we walked past another employee and he said "Noobs".

Being called a noob doesnt mean your not cool or anything. Just means your new to something.

Yeah, I had friends back up in the Bay Area and we called each other n00bs all the time.

Yeah i was during the first year of college now it´s the opposite i will call everyone noob and make them suffer:greenking

i don't think i ever got called a noob when I got into college...i don't remember...was so long ago...all those three year ago...;)

EDIT: I have never been called a newbie or its many incarnations in real life besides on the internet, but never outside the internet... But if I did it would tickle me :jess:

Actually, a newbie is someone who is new to something, a n00bs on the other hand means people who don't know what the hell they're doing and display obnoxious n00bish tendencies.

I've been called a newbie before in real life. Never been called a n00b though. The day someone calls me a n00b is the day I'm gonna point and yell, YOU NERD!

I'm one of the people who clls others noobs. I think I did it 3 times today, one person gave me a wierd look. I had to describe it to my best friend cause she's a blond. So now she knows when I can her and gets mad. YET, i've never myself been randomly called a noob besides my older sister.

Well, in my Pre-Algebra class, the person behind me and I normally say random stuff to one another. We say "You're a newb" very much.

Don't worry about being called a noob. It's far from the worst thing you could be called. I've certainly been called far worse, though not a noob so far.

I call people newbs jokingly :3 My friend and I will sometimes randomly start saying stuff like "lol!" and "Rofl!" to each other before band.

Outside of that, today me and a couple other new joinees to the archery club were all referred to as newbies! It was like, "Okay, newbies follow me~" XD

Yeah! For sure. All the time. My friends and I definitely game too much so we call each other noobs a lot. Most recently, I got called a noob for wearing skinny pants and looking especially emo (not normally my style :p ). I also call my workmates noobs a lot. Sometimes they really do say some stupid [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img].

my friends always say "your such a NOOB!!!" at me and its evil! but i get my revenge when i kick their asses on games because i just go right upto thier face and say "you got OWNED! and yo momma big!" usually though we just poke fun at john because he's such a n00b and a geek that he says "lol" instead of laughing (o.0) (^_^)

I HATE the word nood, it makes me really mad!!! Ironically, I have a friend who plays WOW and CounterStrike (I don't though) and a silly game called Runescape, and like boys do we all joke around and call each other names and stuff, and this friend went through a phase of saying the word noob. I got called a noob so much!!!:@:@

Erhm, Myles and I call each other noobs and use all the internet lingo repeatedly. Roffel, lawl, elohel, oh-em-gee, dubya-tee-eff, etc.

<.< His best friend uses internet lingo too. So does my best friend and when we go visit her there are like ten more people in the group who hang out and all insult each other via internet terms ( mostly from 4chan ). Yeah.

Internet is serious business.

My friends call each other noobs a lot, and I call them noobs.

Yeah, one of my friends uses the word all the time. I hate it. Even newbie, I can't stand. I don't like the CONCEPT of the whole thing rsadsad!

Yeah. My best friend calls me a noob just to tease me. He's an extreme World of Warcraft player, so that might explain why he's using the word in his everyday vocabulary (sp?).

I wouldn't think that females would know what a n00b was, considering that videogames are "very un-lady-like" :(

I have never been called a n00b in real-life, unlike in the gaming world where I pretty much suck at pvping :D
