Sometimes, at seemingly random times, I get a a small ring in my ear. It doesn't last long, but it's weird. I've had my ears checked and they're in good working order.
My friends, actually, complain about having the ringing, too. Is this normal? Or is it a sign that we're all going to go deaf one day? Have YOU ever had that ringing in your ears?
I get it all the time. The ringing that is.
The phone is rather loud.
I get that all the time! I figured it was because I listen to music through headphones way too loud and my ear drums were dying, but this gives me hope it's just normal.
Yeah it probably means you will have hearing problems as time passes by...
I get it too, and my hearing's fine.

I always have it, faintly, and it's a sound that is contained within my head. I think it's just the inner workings of my brain or something. :confused:

I had a lot of ear problems in elementary school due to allergies, and I had a horribly loud ringing in my ear back then. I still have it today, but it's not as bad, and I've just grown to ignore it over the years.

I've never heard ringing before, but my hearing is probably my second worst of all the senses. First my eye sight of course.
I used to have it terribly when I was about 10, and had problems sleeping because of it.
I think it's because of an artery (or vein I suppose) in your ear, and what you can hear is the sound of the blood being pumped through.
I have the same occurrence every now and then. Playing in a band will jack with your ears sporadically.
I just get the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep when it's quite. I love that sound, believe it or not.

a friend told me a while back that if the ringing is coming from your left ear, someone's saying something nice about you. if it's coming from the right, well....let's just say that you pissed someone off.
It's probably very normal because I've had this ringing in my ear several times as well.
I get a high-pitched, quite, "hmmmmmmmm" with a bit of "beeeeeeeeeeep" in it. I like it aswell, it's nice. We're clearly insane.Quote:

(ahem) Anyway, it seems to be a common thing with almost everyone. Sometimes I wish I could control it so when I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO SOMEONE YAMMER ON... I can block them out.

I get it occasionally. I've heard of a variety of reasons for it, but my favorite is that the brain is trying to think too fast and some electricity is building up due to that, causing the buzzing.
As long as it's not this bad, I wouldn't worry about it.
I was told that the sound is simply electricity flowing in your house or in a building.
Yes, I hear it a lot when it's quiet. Though it usually jumps up or down in intensity or pitch, and slowly fades out.
