Do you remember your first day at EoFF?

Of course I do, because it was only about 8 months ago.

It was a magical day. I was sick, and bored, and all by myself. I didnt have much to do, so I decided to surf. This was back in my FF8 days, so I decided to look up some combo's for Zell's limit. I used Google, and came across www.eyesonff.com. It seemed as good as anywhere else, so I clicked the click that would forever change my life. After attaining my desired information on Zell, I saw that Eyes on Final Fantasy had a forum. I thought back to the horrible experience I had at lfactor, and was about to leave. But curiosity kept nipping at my brain, and I decided to check it out. It seemed like a cool enough place, so I signed up. I immediately began posting, and what do you know? I became on of the few newbies that managed to last more than one day. Even though I dont even play Final Fantasy anymore (I might start up again....I still have 8 and Anthologies, as well as a bunch of ROMs), I still continue to come here, because I thoroughly enjoy the diverse numbers of eccentric personalities. That and I enjoy laughing at you idiots.......

Do you remember the day you first joined this wonderful family? What compelled you to sign up? Do explain

Well, I can remember accidentally creating 2 accounts. I can also remember asking tons of stupid questions in the FFXI board.

Nope, not a thing! It wasn't that long ago, but quite enough time for me to forget it. I don't really want to remember either. xD

I probably hung out in the FFV and FFX forums because I'm awesome like that. :cool:

I think my first post might have been in General Chat (Something about a hundred uses of a credit card) but I hung around the KH forum mostly.

I posted a thread about how hard Galuf rocks in the FFV forum. Hid my spoilers with <font color="blue"> and everything.

That's how I should of spend my first day.

I came over in response to Cid's advertising thread at FFWA. I don't remember specific posts, but I do remember being somewhere between the 16th-20th registered member. :D

I don't think it was my first day, but my first days were spent hanging out in Raist's FFVII General Trivia Thread along with Rei, Koi Lung Fish, ThaJinx and the gang.

Those were my first posts, anyway. I think I registered well before I actually posted anything.

It was raining outside and I had nothing to do. So I made an account and posted a lot in the FFVI forum.

I joined in '03, after me mate showed it to me. His sister was a member there, so as I knew someone there, I joined. My first post was a very noobish insult to some FFX fans.

I then made my newbie thread, and stuck to the FF forums until the school banned EoFF (Because of me :cool:)

I don't remember it, no. I do remember Cid writing the URL for Cid's Highwind on a napkin in 11th grade language arts, and I think Cid's Highwind was grey, but that's about it.

I think my first post was in the 'Tell me how to play thread' in the VI board. It was either that or me asking how to get game screenshots in the help forum.

I remember registering after being linked to EoFF from GameFAQs. xD I made a newbie thread and posted around. ...and here I am today! :D

Back when I first joined, I wasn't even half as awesome as I am now. :(

I remember replying to pretty much every thread that was around in the FFIX forum at that time. I don't remember what any of those threads were about, though.

I joined in 2003 and I think I remember posting in the Final Fantasy VIII forum for my very first post, but I'm just guessing.

i was such a noob when i first joined and when i look back at some of the posts i made, it makes me feel like an idiot. still. joining EoFF is one of the best things that happened to me.

Yeah, it was horrible! I asked for help in FFIX and nobody helped me and instead they would just pick on me for triple posting.

I was stuck on a FFII rom because I couldn't figure out how to get the bobsled.

I don't remember. What I do remember is that ScottNUMBERS bumbped my newbie thread 2 years later.

I sort of remember. I was in my mother's garage, and it was during Winter Break. I remember coming across the website in looking for FFVIII stuff, and then joined the forums. All of my first posts were in the FFVIII forum, and most were in the FFVIII quote quiz.

People said that girls weren't on the internet, and I felt oh so persecuted ;_;

I remember searching for a picture of the Revolver(FFVIII)...or was it the Lionheart? I came to this site and onto a closed discusion on how the gunblades worked. What the hell was I looking for a gunblade for? This is bad, I can't remember why I was looking for the gunblade...and that was only three hours ago!

Anyway, I accidently hit the previous thread button and saw a tread about funny FFVIII couples. I wanted to reply, so I signed on. After this, I must remember to reply to thr thread that caused me to join this site, because I forgot to do that!

Oh same here! I spent all my time in FF9 forums. Then clicked a moved thread and it took me to Lounge. I thought "Might as well check out the other's" so I did. That was a very short while ago. Though I have made my presence known!!!!

It would've been better known, had I made a Newbie Thread, and if a certain SOMEONE hadn't killed my sig after ONLY 4 badnesses. 4 = NOT SEVERAL.

It was wierd. It was (well to me) like a little boy finding his old man's porn stash...and pressing the play button ofcourse. Then in about half an hour it lost its innocence.

I was looking for a new forum, so I googled and found EoFF. I joined and haven't left since. I spent most of my newb days in the FFVII, FFIX, and I think the General FF forums. Now I'm normally in General Chat and General Gaming Discussion. I don't remember much else besides the fact I didn't make an introduction thread.

December, 1999, sometime after 6 in the evening I think. I was sitting at my desk in the dark, halway into my freshman year of college, and my roommate was at his computer behind me. I remember pretty clearly searching for Final Fantasy message boards on EZBoard, looking for one to join. Part of my motivation was a plan to get people to be interested in my new FF1 site, which was a month or two old at that time. Part of it was to find a new message board to join, because joining a new board is always better than joining an older one. You can be more a part of a new one; joining later, you're often just another new member among thousands and most of the guts of the board are already established. In any case, I narrowed the choices down to three or four boards out of hundreds of search results. The description of The Highwind impressed me somehow. "We're a week old and we already have 20+ members!" or something similar. (I believe Sean updated that description a lot over time as we grew. In the beginning there was a lot of competition among FF EZBoards to see which was biggest. We weren't the biggest, for a long while.) In any case, that first day, I opened up a paint program of some sort, I think Paint Shop Pro 5, and drew my avatar, which I am still using. It took me a while to decide whether the black outline on Dr. Unne was part of the sprite, or part of the background of the screenshots I was basing it on. In the end I decided to leave off the outer black outline. Years later I would realize that the black outline was really a part of his sprite, not his background, but I continue to use the avatar without the black outline today. That was the first time I'd ever made an animated gif, so it took a while to make, in any case. I remember registering my EZBoard account afterwards. I still remember pretty clearly what the layout of the registration page looked like. Whitish background, asked you if you wanted to make a "global" account, or a single-board account. I made mine global partly because if I joined any other boards, it would add to my post count, and partly because I was worried people would steal my screen name otherwise. There was never any doubt that I would use the name "Dr. Unne". It would be a good way to spread around some FF1-related joy. And I didn't even have to think of a signature. I had to look in the game to figure out the exact wording and punctuation of my signature though; to this day I can't remember it exactly and I have to look it up in the game each time I quote it (though nowadays I just look at chapter 4 of my walkthrough). I had to give some thought as to the formatting of the signature. In the end I decided to use italics to make it stand out. I tried to make the username "Dr. Unne", but it wouldn't allow periods in the username, so I had to leave out the period. I may have considered Dr_Unne, or DrUnne, I can't remember. The board accepted Dr Unne though which I still feel was better anyways. I made a new thread entitled "Hello." in the general chat forum, asking if anyone liked FF1. I was a bit nervous about it because I'd never used a message board before. I kept hitting Refresh over and over to see if my thread would actually get any replies. But Sean replied that he liked FF1, as did a few other people, so I was excited. The thread got 3 or 4 replies pretty quickly. I replied a few times too. I used a lot of exclamation points. I think in the end my first thread ended up with two pages of replies (though the thread was later resurrected by skanker months later, so it may not have broken 2 pages until that time). It was one of the biggest threads around in the beginning, so I was happy. Everyone at the MB was happy about how many members we were getting in such a short amount of time, and there was lots of enthusiasm all around. I hung around for a couple hours and the time went really fast. I told my roommate about it and he didn't care. Then I went to bed.

After such a wonderful story I, too, will go to bed.

Clearly. I remember signing up, logging in, and in desperate need for an avatar and signature. Most of all I remember how I ended up here, looking through Final Fantasy websites, came acrossed this one, needed a new home, and settled into chat. Then after that I was convinced into joining.
