Excel Saga

Battle Royale, man, BATTLE ROYALE.
The Manga is the wild style, yo!
Blade of the Immortal
Appleseed
Ghost in the Shell
Codename: Sailor V!
Death note is a MUST to read! Also the series will air in Japan on 3rd of October I believe =)
I personally like GTO(Great teacher Onizuka) as it is damn funny.
X manga is good too
Monster
The psychological story of a surgeon who unwittingly saves the life of a preternaturally murderous youth and then, after discovering the truth nine years later, resolves to make things right by personally tracking him down and putting an end to his heinous deeds. A very well-written story with a large cast of compelling characters.
Vagabond
An adaptation of the novel Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, which itself was an adaptation of the actual life and times of Miyamoto Musashi, Japan's most legendary samurai. The manga starts off when he was just a snot-nosed seventeen-year-old nobody, and from there it steadily depicts his various trials and interactions with other Japanese historical figures as he progresses towards his goal of becoming "invincible under the sun." In addition to the quality plot and characters, there's plenty of blood-drenched swordfighting, and the artwork overall is incredibly detailed.
Those would definitely be the top two.
Ranma 1/2
Hellsing
Dragonball
Love Hina
thats about my top favs that ive read
Well, since I'm probably the biggest Champloo fanboy ever, I'm gonna go ahead and say...
Get the Champloo ones. There's only 2, but they're pretty good. There's also a film-manga of it, which is just like the anime. The regular Manga are different.
Azumanga Daioh
Yotsuba&
Ranma 1/2
If you can't tell by my Avatar and Signiture, I'm a huge Azumanga Daioh fan. This is a must read and its only four volumes long.
Yotsuba& is probably the funniest thing I've ever read. That crazy kid is awesome.
Ranma 1/2 is made by the same person who did InuYasha, but they're pretty different and Ranma 1/2 is great.
Bleach
Sailor Moon
Battle Vixens
Berserk is probably one of the best manga series I have ever read. However, it has too much violance and nudity so that is a minus :/
Im always up for something violent and naked.Quote:

Samurai Deeper KYO (Manga, not Anime)
Naruto
Bleach
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Digimon
Eyeshield21
MAR
Cardcaptor Sakura
Fullmetal Alchemist
Detective Conan
In addition, the Cased Closed/Detective Conan manga is quite good, though it'll be awhile before Viz publishes all 40+ volumes...Quote:

I'll agree with what Kishi said. Vagabond is quality, man.
And I'll add Lament of the Lamb. Although the only bad thing about reading that was that everything after it I hated. Until Vagabond. :D You better not mind depressing, though.
And I don't know if the manga is anything like the anime, but the Gantz anime was terrible. Just overridden with cliches, I felt.
Yeah I will give it that. At the time I watched it, I wanted something with more depth, so maybe I wasn't in the right mood and judged too harshly. ;D
I just read the first in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, it's pretty good.
Ceres Celestial Legend : Kinda macabre horror
Magic Knight Rayearth
Yami no Matsuei
Juvenile Orion
Spirit of Wonder: Nineteenth century setting, mad inventors and a Chinese martial artist landlady. What more could you want?
What's Michael: Humorous look at cats and the humans that love (or hate) them.
You're Under Arrest: Often overshadowed by the more famous Oh My Goddess, but both are excellent. The adventures of a female team of traffic cops. Balances action and humor nicely.
Pet Shop of Horrors: A hotheaded cop investigates a mysterious and effeminate pet shop owner that sells disturbingly humanlike pets that come complete with Tales From the Crypt-style morality lessons. Although my favorite part is the relationship between the cop's kid brother and a three headed dragon.
Maison Ikkoku: Although I like a lot of Takahashi's work this is still my favorite. Mainly because I can relate to many of the characters. A struggling college student falls in love with his new landlady, but finds a lot of humorous obstacles to romance.
I highly suggest Chobits!
And someone else recommended the Wallflower! It's hilarious and morbid!
http://stoptazmo.com
You can download Appleseed, Hot Gimmick, Chobits, Wallflower (Perfect Girl Evolution) there!!
:D
Besides the highly endearing cast, Maison Ikkoku is commendable for being the only one of Takahashi's serial works that actually has natural character development and plot progression. In other words, it managed to shirk all of that "let's drag this crap out for thirty-plus volumes with story gimmicks, a new Mary Sue character every five chapters, and constant unresolved romantic tension forever" nonsense for which she's infamous.
Well, it has been out for like...20 years now? I think it was first published in Japan in '86 or something. :cat:Quote:
