What do you love about where you live?

It just occured to me on my lunchbreak that as much as I knock where I live, there's a lot to enjoy. We've got a peninsula, an indoor waterpark, and an undefined 'shopping district'. The traffic isn't bad, the air is generally clean, and we seem to have a fair amount of citywide festivals. And there's also the glorious 'All You Can Eat Chicken Wings' night which is offered at quite a few restaurants and bars around here, which, from personal experience doesn't occur everywhere. :)

Nothing, except the fact im smarter than everyone where I live.

I live, quite literally, in the perfect place. With the exception of some of the people, so...not that literally...

But it is such a fantastic place. It's a town with basically everything, and just minutes away is open countryside!

I love looking through the window and knowing you guys are there.

Did you guys know you had your own webcam?

The Parnel Rose Gardens were built around the house where I live. Its like a backyard xD

Plus, I can walk to the city should I wish to.

I'm an American in Germany. What's not to love?

I like that I can see the ocean from my house, and I like that movies are dirt cheap. That's actually it. I'd love to leave here.

This town, I'm not too crazy about. It's too white-bread and sheltered.

But god, New York. I couldn't picture myself in any other place, I am infatuated with state. The history, the culture, it's all very beautiful to me. It's the place where so many immigrants, like my father as a child and his family from Italy, came to start a new life, and it's like no other place in the world to me. New York City especially, I want to live there for a few years while I go to college. And I'm not going to lie, even just being in Time Square makes me very emotional and teary, it's very beautiful to me. And that's why I don't know how people can think that NYC is a horrible crime ridden place, because it's so beautiful and Manhattan is actually low in crime despite common belief, due to Giuliani. Most people who say that have only seen pictures of the buroughs, like Brooklyn. I'm proud of being a New Yorker, moreso than being an American actually (because I dislike most other states xD), and everyone knows I'm a New Yorker because of my Noo Yoikah accent. :bigsmile:

I guess growing up in a rural area a big city is a nice change. Also the fact that Montreal maintains greenery. Where I live specifically is nice and quiet and I am near a cemetery which is nice to walk in during the day. There are other things too, but I cannot think of anything.

* I live very near to an excellent supermarket that provides me with great take-away food, a wide range of magazines, comics and books, electrical goods, computer games and pharmacy items.

* We're close to the countryside. A quick stroll up the lane and you're in a field. It's all very pretty and green.

* It's not a "rough" area, as they say here in England. Nobody is posh by any stretch of the imagination, but we don't have hundreds of skallies/chavs parading around on street corners causing trouble.

* We're not too far away from the town centre, but we're not too near it either. What I mean is, we can easily hop onto the bus in order to visit that special shop, but the late night clubs/bars that attract the wrong sort of crowd don't affect us at all.

All in all, I love the area in which I live.

The weather is great, and there's tons to do. It'll take alot to get me to leave...

There's a little store that sells playing cards nearby. Other than that, there really isn't a whole lot of anything.

I like my local neighbourhood because it's full of honest, likeable people, and there's a record store, game store and bookshop close at hand. I love London because there's so much culture and such a variation across the city. It's got history, but that doesn't get in the way of it being a living city, and I like that.

There's a store called Hershey's, but it doesn't sell chocolate. I could go on, but you don't want to hear that. :)

I love the urban culture in London, I'd hate to live anywhere else where I'd be missing out all of it. The great variety of things to do in the city, I could go out and be very culteral and look around the historical parts of London, or I could go out and go through the very modern parts of the city. I dont think any other city in the world has such a great clash of old and new.

I also like my accent :cool:

i like the secludedness of where i live.......

Despite all the crappy stuff about Los Angeles, we have great food. Great Greek food, great Sushi places, great Hamburger joints, giant burritos, and the best darn Korean food in the entire world. Better than Korea itself. Fondue, oreo pancakes, Brazillion BBQ, whatever you're craving, you can find it here.

I can easily feel superior here, and be completely wrong in my statements! =D

I like the fact that everyone that lives on my road is related to me.... litereally.
I also like that I'm not exactly in the country but neither am I in the city, so there isnt a lot of traffic from the city life, but there arent alot of cow crap on the roads from the country life. ;)

I live in bridgeport. The ghetto of connecticut. wats not to love? The crime rate has dropped, the death rate has risen, my moms car got jacked, i live a mile away from my friends except the one who lives up my street, my dads friend come in and wakes everybody up at 11, 12, and 2. if im up he asks if my dad is sleeping, if I say yes, he says ok, then wakes him up anyway. Also, Theres maybe one set of white people here on my street( im the only white person in my household),

i'm an hour away from toronto, there's a casino in my town, we get the best...and worst...of both big seasons...there's a warm lake and a cold lake...i'm leavin in a month to move across the country though.

There are a lot of people here that I care very deeply about and it's a well-known, comfortable environment for me.

I live in the city of Vancouver. It is the world's most livable city.

I love it here. I'll never leave.

Well, I now live in Swansea, Wales soooo...

I like the fact that there's a beach here that stretches for miles with a wonderful beach area known as "The Mumbles" which is a world away from inner city Swansea (where I live).

Um... well... er... San Bernardino has given me an appreciation for travel.

I live in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Its about an hour from Melbourne (I love it when Americans say it) And I live in a house around a lake (huge) and its almost dry...droughts all around for Australia...its not that great but at lest we dont have to swim in nothing! (Thank god for my pool) .
So Australias a pretty cool place...and by "cool" I mean boiling

I like the fact that Fresno is a day's drive from many worthwhile things: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Disneyland, SeaWorld, Yosemite, the beach, Mexico, Vegas, Reno...

I have TREES. That makes it all worth it for me....Of course, i'm right near the mall too. ;)

My friends school and meh just everything ^^ okay no. SOME things.

I have a rousing construction site outside my window that looks onto a concrete wall........ :( and it's cold

The fact that it's the most beautiful city in the United Kingdom by a long shot.

I live in a small town and I like that. It's very peaceful here and there's a lot of lovely nature all over the place. I dig my environments :)

it just rained in Arizona, and well, the rain never beats the sun...

I love all the guns and gun fights knives are cool too so is street racing:love:

Nothing except the name.

Part of the name comes from the Irish word "Cluain", which can mean either "meadow" or "deception". In the case of my town, I like to think the latter.

I live in the middle of nowhere but I love the peace and quiet. We have a forest off our back garden, which is cool. ^_^ We're about 30 minutes away from the beach, in the car, so it's not too far at all.
The village I live in only has a spar shop and a place that sells random stuff like party plates and pencils :S but I'm not much of a shopper anyway. :p The town nearby has loadsa good shops too. ;P

The only thing I really like about this place is that it has both road and rail links leading away from it, and that it is not especially secluded by natural barriers such as water or mountains, making my eventual escape easier.

That said, the actual town center of Leicester is tolerable. There's a fair selection of stores, and they're massively upgrading [strike]The Shires[/strike] the Highcross Quarter, so if I'm inside the bounds of the A594 I'm not too bothered, except for the packs of drunken louts who roam the area after dark.

Their is a supermarket near by, that's convenient. The same applys to the doctors, chemist, chip shop, dentist, train station, bus stops. Their is a big hill here that is rather nice. The only problem being it interferes with mobile telephone, an TV reception. There are lots of crows around here as well. Some very big ones.

The fact that almost all of the people I love are in walking distance is probably the best thing. Also, my area is extremely convenient to me in that I live very near a ton of takeaways, several newsagents, a huge corner-shop, a train station and a bus-stop. :p

The only big problem is that it's full of horrible chavs. xD
