Four years ago today.
A gentleman in South Korea played Diablo II in an internet cafe for 86 hours with no food or sleep, and eventually died.
How long had you mindlessly held the controller in your hand with no regard for the outside world? My record is the twelve hours it took me to finish the original Suikoden in one sitting.
-
Your joking?! The longest Ive ever gone would be about 6 hours or so. It was Escape from Moneky Island. Completed it the day I got it.
-
11 hours on FFIV Advance.
-
I dunno, probably like 13 hours or something on FFXI. Beyond that like 10 hours or so on various other games.
My freind had a record of 73 hours on FFXI. It was funny to listen to his comments about how he managed it. After that though he set a time limit for any one game before sleep.
But in retrospec he did get like 20 levels or something in that time. >.>
-
Did that guy at least wear a diaper or did he just sit there and piss and crap his pants the whole time he played?
-
I have no clue. He was found in the bathroom. Grisly details were omitted.
-
Probably somewhere between 8-10 hours.
-
Its just so disturbing that this man allowed himself to go OTT with the game. I mean, why not just pull the plug on the PC the guy was using? Surely the people at the shop were concerned?
-
Playing video games until you die is just the hot thing to do in Korea these days. He told them he was hardcore.
-
I dunno, Ive done an all nighter with Street Fighter a few times...
-
Maybe 24 hours, but never straight through. I took pee breaks and food breaks.
-
13 hours (approx) with FFXI.
18 hours with GWF.
-
I've probably spent a few hours on a console.
And probably about 12 hours on pc.
-
A good 50 or so, I was doing the extra stuff on Mega Man: Battle Network 2
-
I dunno. I never let it interrupt my sleeping and eating schedules.
-
6 hours I guess, set that record a few years ago though, I think it was GTA 3. These days I never get past the 3 hours. And I think that's a good thing.
-
I've played a video game all day before, ~13-14 hours total, but I took meal breaks, etc.
-
Somewhere between 15-17 hours on SCO when it first came out. It was literally all I was doing all day for two weeks.
-
Spent about 20 hours playing Guilty Gear XX trying to unlock all the stroy mode endings and getting all the missions in mission mode and unlocking all the hidden characters in Survival Mode.
-
About 7 hours on FFVIII is my longest.
-
I've stayed up a few nights playing Ragnarok and Guild Wars.
-
A good 30 hours, but with food breaks.
-
I tend to take breaks for sleeping and eating. My top might be 10 or 12 with Xenogears when I had nothing else to do on the weekend I got it.
-
Uhm, probably around 12 hours while playing FFXI.
I took breaks to eat and go to the bathroom though...
-
12-14 hours with breaks.Thats my limit though.
-
I'm really not sure what's the longest I've ever played a game. But any time I get a great new RPG, my social life ends for a while.
-
I don't even think I've done it that long, I'm so not hardcore ;__; My longest may have been with final fantasy X, I remember playing all day but I'm sure I stopped to eat. I spend more time having breaks from games than playing them. *sit down...2 minutes later...get drink....ten minutes later..browse net for half an hour...* I have such a low concentration span ;_;
-
20+ FFXI, FF7, FF8 and alot of other Ps2/1 RPGs.
-
Something like 15 or 16 hours on FFXI. I played during my waking hours that day. Bathroom breaks were minimal and my food was brought to me. No food breaks involved. Play while you eat. =3
-
Me and my cousin ended up playing Mario 64 for about six hours.
One time I played FFVIII for longer, but I fell asleep while doing it.
-
I never really can play a game none stop I get bored to easily. I have played for like 6 hours straight a couple times before but normaly only when a friend is playing with me thats when I play to much cuz its a lot funner with other people.
-
If its a handheld game, its a good full day of gaming till i put it down. so about 15 hours or so, but since im movin around and going places, it isnt too hampering on my life. FFIV Advanced is just too good to put down!!!
-
15 and a half hours playing Skies of Arcadia. I did all of Disc 2 in a single day. I did go to the loo and get food and stuff (though I ate while I played xD)
-
the longest marathon i would have to say was about 11 hours...i rented castlevania symphony of the night and went through the whole game non-stop the first time, taking bathroom breaks and eating of course.
-
30 hours when Final Fantasy IX came out, taking normal food and bathroom breaks, of course. No sleep, however.
-
17 hours for Legend of Dragoon...mom and I both. Didn't leave the TV, except for bathrooming, and Dad brought us food. :)
-
Id say maybe 18 hours, including bathroom and food breaks.
-
I think my record is 7-9 hours. I was trying to complete Beyond Good and Evil in one sitting. I did have food and loo breaks though.
-
About 14 hours with FFXI, but I took breaks, so I guess it doesnt really count.
there is no way I could play more than 5 hours without moving.
-
72 Hours.
Although it was not straight through, as my brother and I were switching between computers every couple of hours (one had 56k, the other had cable) and we took quick breaks to grab something to snack on while we played Diablo 2.
And then I got about five hours of sleep and went to school the next day. This was my freshman year. I'm too old for that stuff nowadays.
-
About 4 years ago, I was home sick from work for about a week. I played Ragnarok Online everyday that week from when I woke up till when I went to bed. So About 14 hours a day. Yeah, that was interesting.
-
Probably 12 hours, at most.
-
like 6 hours i know i'm pathetic
-
36 hours on an internet based computer game where levelling was based on a probability fraction and was actually really hard to do, I gained 150 levels in that time and managed it without dying once though the wierd comments on the irc channel for the game were hysterical once I'd eaten and grabbed 2 hours sleep.
-
No food or sleep? 5 1/2 hours, Dirge of Cerberus start to finish.
Snacks, bathroom breaks, etc. I don't know. Probably 12 hours, FFVII.
-
that was 36 hours of not moving or even looking away from the monitor I only stopped because I was physically starting to involuntarily cry blood tears!
-
Probably around six to eight hours. I'd probably spend a lot of time on the Internet if I HAD it. ¬_¬
