Dancing Mad wins. I like One Winged Angel too, but Dancing Mad is much more epic, and gives a better sense of 'OMFG this is the final battle' than OWA, without becoming tiresome to listen to.
I've made my case.
Kefka was worlds cooler than Sephiroth, but the urgency and vocal presence stressed in One Winged Angel gives Sephiroth the cooler final battle song. If we were talking about character themes, Kefka wins, hands down.
Dancing Mad is way cooler. OWA is really annoying.
musically, Dancing Mad.
...
Dancing Mad, thank you.
OWA is rather overrated in my eyes. There's so much better stuff out there.
See my signature and Kishi's post above. :D Anyway, I prefer One-Winged Angel myself. A combination of orchestra, choir, an enjoyable song and maybe even the Black Mages beat an organ song for me, although Dancing Mad is also quite enjoyable.
I most definitely prefer One Winged Angel to Dancing Mad.
I couldn't really get into One Winged Angel until I watched the end of Advent Children
One Winged Angel did a lot more for the battle with Safer Sephiroth then Dancing Mad did for the battle with Kefka.
I can't stand either of these songs.
It's like Yellowcard vs Relient K.
I prefer Dancing Mad. OWA was good for a while, but it gets old.
one winged angel is a very good tune and the AC version of it is really something. it seems more full than DM but dancing mad wins it for me.
i'd heard it on FFO before but when it came up to kefka himself, it sounded amazing.
i just think in general, dancing mad is a better tune. one winged angel never interested me that much.
and its not just the fast paced bit at the end. i like it all.
I say one winged angel. As a matter a fact, I never liked dancing mad, never heard the appeal in it, actually I disliked the music entirely. One winged angel gives much more of a final boss appeal then some weird music to a lunatic clown than the chorus and the instruments from one winged angel that goes with an epic character. ONE WINGED ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deal with it.
p.s. someone explain to me in detail what is so appealing about dancing mad to them.
I was like "I have something to say about this" and then I clicked the thread and saw that I had already replied 4 years ago. :P
What I was going to say was Dancing Mad is much more epic and intense as a final boss theme, but I'm more likely to put One Winged Angel on my iPod because Dancing Mad mostly only works in context. And is like 20 minutes long.
This thread is ancient. Make a new one if you really want to talk about this dead horse but don't go resurrecting threads that are past their time. ;)
