Evanescance are ok, Amy Lee has a beautiful voice and thier songs are well composed, but as for thier musical skill, i'd say they were just above average. A good band still, don't get me wrong, but I think it could of been a lot better.
Evanescance is fine with em I love the songs...

Not a fan of any modern music I must say. I find all of it very repetitive and unappealing. So Evanescence I don't like either, from the stuff I've heard.
I didn't like much about the band, simply cause they didn't appeal. Amy Lee may have a "nice" voice but I didn't like it. Then, Evanescence did a cover of a Smashing Pumpkins song "Zero".
It was terrible.
Now I pity their existence.

They're not that great. They're ok. On some points they can be rather annoying. Like their new song.
I don't care for them.
Sure, I like them pretty well. It's not the normal kind of music I listen to though, and I can only go about 4-5 songs before I feel like it's drilling a hole in my head and I need a change. All their songs are so packed full of something...dark and pointy. Sometimes it seems a bit much to me :jess:
I find them to be very try-hard. I'm not into the sort of music they play, I don't really like them.

I don't love Evanescence, but I do like them. They make good music and Amy Lee is a talented singer. "Call Me When You're Sober" is a nice song and the video is great.

Evanescence has a few enjoyable songs, such as "My Immortal" and "Bring Me to Life", and some pretty good ones too, such as "Anything for You", "Anywhere" and "Lies".

Wow, I can hardly stand to listen to most of the songs you guys have listed anymore. I'm completely burnt out on their old stuff. For now it's just The Open Door, and maybe a handful older songs... Whisper, Tourniquet, and Breathe No More.
Some of the songs I like. Not into female singers too much though so I don't listen to them often.
I'm sure when historians blow the dust off the 20 and the 21st Century, and discover the ancient "CD's" and find some way of listening to The Smashing Pumpkins and get to hear "Zero", I'm sure they'll agree with me.Quote:

I like their stuff, but it's getting old now. I've got two different albums, and I can't help but aimlessly shuffle through all the songs before I just move on to another artist.

They're good, but they are by no means the best band ever. I like Evanescence, but I'm not obsessed. And I generally have to be in a certain mindset to listen to more than a few songs at a time.
I heard a few of her newer songs on a friends iPod. Not really impressed with the new material.
The old material is still the best.

They're pretty okay. I like Imaginary, and My Immortal. Even in Death is quite good, but a lot of their stuff you have to be in a certain frame of mind to listen to.

Nah, dont like them. An ex friend in college was obsessed with them and hearing about then 24/7 and their music, I grew to dislike them.
Missing and Before the dawn were my favs but the other songs I don't like themas musch unless I'm lipsynching:p But yeah Amy Lee's cool (in fact my name is Amy *GASP* yeah but not Lee)
I quite like Evanescence. I have "Fallen" and "The Open Door". I prefer the newest album actually.......in comparison to just about everyone else on this thread:D

Evanescence is great. Amy Lee has a good voice, and she works well together w/the band. Call Me When Your Sober ruuuuuules!

Terry Balsamo from Cold joined the band, replacing Moody.[11] Lee has recently stated in interviews that she was abused, physically and emotionally, by Ben Moody in a previous relationship and regrets trying to stay friends with him for the sake of the band after they broke up.[12][13] Moody confessed in an interview that not only does he suffer from bipolar disorder, but that he's kicked a drug and alcohol habit that he was entrenched in during the strife within Evanescence.

The band is better for losing him, in my opinion. They are far less commercial.
I had the pleasure of seeing them live last Tuesday, and met Amy briefly at the tour busses. They sound better live now than they ever have before.
