Myself, I answer the phone in a variety of ways. Anything from "Battersea Dogs Home" to "This is the Adams Family" or sometimes "Scooby Doo?"
But I am not the issue here. :mad2:
The issue is you. You. How do you answer the phone? :)

"Hey", or "Hello" or "Hi"
If I know it is my sister I might say "Hey whore" but that is just how me and my sister are (we call each other names, but in a loving manner).
I just say "Hello" but if I know who it is calling (with have caller ID) like one of my friends or something, then I'll say like "yo" or "wassup" :p
If I'm aware it's someone I know personally, I answer "Telephone?", otherwise something generic like "It's Pontus" or the like.
"Is that you John? Or Timmy? If you are neither of them or you are one of them, I have nothing to say to you bye. ccccchhhuuuuu~~~~~~~"
" Hello this is the Rye residents, who am i speaking to?"
but only in danish which is like this " hej, det er familie rye hvem taler jeg med?"
"Good morning/afternoon, Aerian". It hasn't rang today though, hoorah, but boo. Means we aren't busy enough ;__; I don't really answer home phone cos noone calls me there, and on my mobile, depends who it is, usually "hey".
At work: "[Company Name], [Rank, Last Name], How may I help you sir or ma'am?"
At home: "Yeah?", "Hello?", or "What do you want?".
I'm slightly rude.
"Eeyello"
or
"Yeeeeeees?"
At work: "Good morning/afternoon, this is Eric, how can I help you?'
At home: "Yo?" and "Hello?"
Hiya or yellow :D
Typically "Hello". When I worked at Sears I had to say "Thank you for calling Sears in the Asheville Mall, this is Megan how can I help you?" in about 1.2 seconds before people interrupted.
Yo dawg.
I wait for them to say something first, then i copy it.
I say "What?", and right as they're in mid-sentence I hang up the phone.
Halla, det er Bodil
(impossible to translate)
or
Asker Fisk og Video, vær så god.
(Asker Fish and Video, how may I help you?)
I usually just use that last one, and most people just hang up or excuse themself and then hang up. Still, I wonder who would sell fish and videos in the same store.
I always say, "Ja, det er Kristian", which directly translated means: "Yes, it's Kristian." I have no idea why I don't say "hello" or "hi" or anything similar - it's just an old habit I guess.
Ja, hallo?
Halo?
Phones ftl.
I have a direct satelite link to my brain, messages are directly transmitted to and from my cerebral cortex...
... I say " http://www.learn-japanese-kanji-hira...iragana_mo.gifhttp://www.learn-japanese-kanji-hira...ragana_shi.gifhttp://www.learn-japanese-kanji-hira...iragana_mo.gifhttp://www.learn-japanese-kanji-hira...ragana_shi.gif "
"Hello?" or if I know who is calling "Hey, you alright?" :jess:
Mine is very simple.
I say, 'Hello, you are talking to the Greatest Man on Earth, an Absolute Prince among Men.' if a guy phones.
If it's a woman calling I just say, 'Why aren't you in the kitchen?'
"Hello?"
"Hi", or "Yes" if I don't know who it is. "What" if it is someone I don't care about, "sup" if it's someone I know, "Heey <3" if it's my girlfriend.
Depending who it is I'll give out a random quirky greeting, or an inside joke. However, if it's someone whom I don't know; I'll just answer "Hello."
well varys depends on how i feel my most often ones are hey, HEEElllloooo, *a couple minutes of silence and rarely but some times a random word like moo or yello or yer oos der
Sometimes I say 'Hello' in the most high-pitched voice I can, and sometimes I say 'yellow' or 'jello' instead of 'hello'
Hello. :D
I don't!
Just "Hello?" in the monotonous way imaginable...
Usually "Hello!" (the most unconventional of greetings, huh?), but if I know who's calling I will give them a personalised greeting. A personalised greeting.
Dia duit, now WHAT THE SMURF DO YOU WANT THIS TIME!?!?
or, if i know them: Dia duit, mo chara, NOW WHO THE SMURF GAVE YOU THIS NUMBER?!?!!?
Im banned from answering the phone in my house, for obvious reasons.
I hate answering the phone, and try to avoid it as much as I can. If I have to, I will pick up and wait for the opposing force to start up with the talking. I guess that’s pretty rude, but I really do hate answering the phone.
If it's someone important or I'm at work, I'll say my name when answering. I might also say "Hello?" If it's someone I know (my mobile phone shows me who's calling), I say "Well, hiya!", "Yeah?" or "What?" Sometimes, if it's a friend of mine, I might say something funny when answering. A funny answering line that just came to my head was, "Sorry, wrong number."
Lately people have been mistaken me for my mother but depending on my mood the way I answer the phone probably changes.
Estou? lol --> when Im upset Sim...?
At home, its boring ol' "Hello?"
At work, its "Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, Concierge, this is Samantha, How can I assist you?"
"Yeah?" with people I know, "Hyyyellow," with people I don't know or don't speak with often.
I have one friend I answer with "HellOOOoooOOOO!"
And at work "Thank you for calling _______, blah blah blah"
any of the normal greetings, mostly "hello"? and if they don't answer, then they should never be calling...
Start off with:
\"Welcome to Burger King, can I take your order.\"
They reply with:
\"Um...mm....can I speak to your mother?\"
And I end with:
\"The Boss? Oh one second.\"
If I don't know who it is, "Hello?"
If I know who it is, "Hey" or "What's up?"
"Ahoy-hoy?"
Well, normally just "Hello" but when it's a friend or someone I speak to often, I could answer in a variety of different ways.
But there was this one time when my caller ID stopped working because we had just moved, and my friend was over and another one of my friends told me he was going to call, so I answered the phone with an extremely high-pitched scream and it turned out to be someone doing a survey. After they didn't say anything for about ten seconds I said "Dusty!" and the girl went "excuse me?"
then I went holy S___! and hung up.
Dusty called about two minutes later.... I answered by screaming.
"hello...homocide...."
I never really answer the telephone at home, but when I do its always "WHAT?!" or "YES?!"
I sometimes get calls at 11 PM and just say "Who calls at 11?!" and then hang up.
When it's my Dad, "Burning Corpse Crematorium, you kill 'em we grill 'em! How may I be of service?" He gets confused by it every time.
It depends who's calling. (The uses of caller ID ...)
But if it isn't someone I dont' know, I just end up answering, "HELLO?" because most people can hear me if i don't yell on my phone. It's old.
"Hello? Goodbye."
randomly depending on the caller and how I feel I remember I once answered my phone in a library by yelling the C£$T word out loud. The librarians saw the funny side though which was cool unfortunately the teachers of the school kids and the old ladies didn't
If it's my home phone, I will always say "Hello?"
If it's my cellphone, though, it depends. Usually "Hey" or "Yeeeees?" Once in awhile I will switch it up and also say "What do YOU want?"
Many different ways. "Hello" "Mushi Mushi" "Rammu kupo" or if I know who's calling and what they want, "Yeah mom?"
"Hello?", "A-hoy-hoy.", "Yo yo."
