This year I decided not to go out for Halloween. I'm 16, and I feel I'm getting a bit too old to trick or treat, even though I wanted to.
So answer the question. At what point do you think someone is too old to go out for Halloween?

In terms of Trick-Or-Treating, I stopped at 16. Though you're never too old to go out with a couple of buddies and have a fun time.
It matters who you ask the question to. Like some people may think that no age is to old for halloween, me...I plain hate Halloween so I say 1 is old enough.

But if I have to answer without a question, I am going to take a stab in the dark and say... 23.
A 16 or 17 year old dude came to our house tonight, so it's okay.
Just remember, no one's to old for candy, but candy can get to old for you. :razz:
I think the real question is, "when is it too old to be a pagan?"
The problem is I'm a 16 year old that looks 18. Whenever people first meet me they're shocked to hear I'm only 16. One person commented "I thought you were at least 18!"Quote:

I was 19, but i look young ^_^. This year i just hung out with friends.
I stopped Trick or Treating when I was 15 or 16. But I still get dressed up if we're having a family party as do my aunts and uncles.
There is no such thing as too old.

15 is too old for trick or treating.
After that, you dress like death and get your candy by stealing candy from the unsupervised children or you do some "tricking."
Personally, I didn't do either. I got myself a job and ate candy that I bought from the store when I wanted it, and I spent halloweens at costume parties.
Never imho. I'm sixteen and Halloween would be dull and lifeless for me without trick or treating. It's other people who think you're too old for trick-or-treatin' and don't give you candy, so next year I'm going to dress up as a little kid. And TRICK them into giving me treats.

Never. Every now and then you have to go back to being a kid, otherwise you get all stressy and life's a bitchy, and that sucks. So Halloween rocks because it gives adults a chance to just relax and have a good time.

Halloween isn't just about trick or treating, it's about pretending to be something you're not for a day and having fun. You're never too old for that.
A few people in the group I went out with yesterday were 17 and 18. The oldest person was in their 20's. :p

Never. Trick or treating, you outgrow, but you never outgrow the spirit of Halloween.
As long as you have a decent costume, who cares?

I haven't gone trick-or-treating in a long time. It lost its appeal some time ago and I just haven't bothered with it. I don't really go out and party either, that isn't my thing. I don't think there is an age limit. Continue doing what you want to do until you stop having fun with it.
I stopped trick-or-treating when I was about 14. If somebody who was 16 came to my door, though, I would definitely give them some sweeties! :jess:
Gosh, y'all are some old tricker treaters. I was eleven when I stopped. My sister was twelve.
According to my dad, the reason we had to stop was because we'd grown bustlines. I wonder what the cut off would be for boys, then?

I think it depends on the person, some of my friends couldn't wait to say 'No' when I said we should all go Trick-or-treating, and my friends are 14-15 :p
I, personally, still get a buzz out of it, even though I couldn't go this year. It wouldn't bother me going out and knocking on doors, my friends seemed to think it was taking advantage of a good thing. Most "kids" in my area are more my age and older, so we didn't get any trick-or-treaters whatsoever

Well it depends what you mean by go out.
Stop trick or treating when you go to high-school, and start going to costume parties with scantally clad women and ever-flowing booze. You'll understand someday.
There's never an age too old to celebrate Halloween. Many of the people I interact with daily dressed up for this past Halloween and they're in their 30s and 40s.
Trick-or-Treating, though, should stop when you get to High School, so at about 14. Although I went Trick-or-Treating with a group of friends around our college town my freshman year of college on a sort of candy scavenger hunt (you know, collect each type of candy on a list etc.,...it's even harder when some people won't give you candy because you're too old ;) ), and chatted up with the locals and what not. It was a lot of fun.
So yeah, you can be too old to ask for free candy just to eat it, but you're never too old to have fun.

I would say your never too old for Halloween. Though, it depends on that person. Personally, I love trick or treating. Especially since in the town next to us, they give king sized candy bars and even soda! I think once your old enough to go outside at night and not have your parents hold your hand and watch you is when your too old for halloween. But thats just me...

But, I am a college student now, and it just felt like something I was too old to do. Besides, I had been at college from 7 AM till 5 PM, like every other Tuesday, but this time I had 2 tests, one of which I hadn't expected. When I got home, I wanted to just crash and burn...

As you get older Halloween just becomes more of a social event rather than an international anti-dentist day.
Candy is slowly replaced by gin, vodka, whiskey, beer, etc. Consequently Halloween can become pretty messy.
I dunno about me. I havent trick or treated since I was about 8. It was never very fun. I take more joy in trying to come up with different schemes to scare the kids who come to my house.
Although, some that came last night werent kids. We had a LOT of older people out there. The oldest I saw by themselves were around 18, but there were some parents who had bags, too. I rarely hand out the candy, but when I do, I NEVER give anyone candy that looks older than 12. You need to grow out of it sometime.

Halloween doesn't really occur around these parts. As Americanised as Australia is becoming, we still have got our head around Halloween.
I'd still be going if my friends would actually GO trick or treating rather than stumble around parks with vodka, drunk, peeing in bushes. ;__;
I'm fifteen and I went with a couple of friends this year. I'll keep going as long as I'm going with friends. I mean, I don't really believe in an age limit for this, but going by yourself at sixteen.....that's sad.
