98. ME is the worst.
98 was when Windows started being crap. 95 was good.
95 was good so was 98. I never used ME
ive never used ME but from what ive heard its the glitchiest thing since Pokemon blue!!
Pokemon blue must be pretty smurfing glitchy.
oh the humanity.....how many times have i have to restart pokemon blue because of the smurfing glitches.....still at least it isnt as bad as FF7!
Windows 98 for nostalgic reasons. I've never actually used ME apart from at a friends house, but it worked fine.
And wouldn't this be better called the battle of obsolete operating systems?
i think windows XP Service pack 2 should be included.....it has been the worst thing i have ever done to my hardrive to soil it with the service pack 2.......it worked much better and faster with service pack 1!!!
ME...
It ought to be titled Y2K Bug edition, or something to that effect...
Windows ME deserves a very special place in software hell. :p God, that OS was awful.
98 SE. 98 was , as was ME. I mean, son, they were all , but the block of known as 98 SE was less astic than the other s. , I dunno why they even bothered ting out the hole system restore feature for ME. Short answer, NT < 2000 < XP < < ALL < Linux.
Linux 98 ftw. .

If I was to choose a Windows OS from that era, it'd have to be Windows NT 4 with Service Pack 6.
98 with ease. ME always crashed on me and anytime I tried to change any settings on my comp it would die.
My computer would die like everyday no matter what I did, I had horrid problems with overheating and my RAM got all smurfed.I switched that computer over to XP asnd never had another problem.
They're both terrible OSes, even compared to XP. Try plugging in any PnP device and neither OS will recognize it correctly. By todays' standards that's the mark of a bad OS.
I couldn't install ME. Then again neither could I unistall 98 to install ME.
ME deserves to burn in hell, it's hair ripping bad. Dammit the memories are coming back.
I remember actually getting an ME box to work properly for about 6 weeks, I was at my brothers and his ME box worked for me without fault for 6 weeks daily use. I mean come on that was miraculous in my eyes.
Apparently it died on him when I went home, oops.
Going with luck on that but still. I could fix it at any rate I was already studying the building and repairing of computers.
I can remember my home computer with ME being glitchy and prone to crashes. The school computers on Windows 98 were slow as hell and would only recognise 1 brand of USB data stick.
that is because for USB in windows 98 you had to install drivers for the utilities including for each brand of data stick or usb adapted technology. Sucks but necessarry, your school probably sold the ones their computers recognised to students did they not? most schools with software that would need a driver for that sort of thing would make money out of it.
Good old 98, it's never done me wrong before.
O.o Was I the only one that had no problems whatsoever with Windows ME? Had it installed on one of my boxes way back in the day. Didn't glitch out, didn't roll over and die or anything. It was....normal. Sure it might not have agreed with a few PnP devices, but my experience wasn't nearly as horrible as the rest of you guys.
Windows SE, however... :rolleyes2
98. Never used ME, but I loved 98.
I've had to maintain software at work that is supposed to run on Windows 98. I want to find everyone who ever worked at Microsoft during the Windows 98 development process and punch them all in the face.
Out of the two I would say that 98 was better. I have to say though that once when sorting out the massively spread out music files I had I managed to lose all of them simply by cutting and pasting them to another folder....sucks.
