Do you find it weird when someone has a sig/avatar that's the opposite gender?
Didn't you make this topic a long time ago? :P

Kinda. I usually picture people like their avatar, o sometimes I think guys are girls and guys.
No. It doesn't matter to me.
I would be a hypocrite if I did.
Usually, but if I find out later that I'm wrong, then I can recall that matter of relative unimportance if the person is relevant to my concerns enough that I must call him/her a him or a her.
And besides, even after we know, we don't really know, now, do we?
Judging by my avatar, am I a guy or girl?
My sigs are always beautiful and precious, like my current one. :jess:
My sig and avatar tend to be female where-ever I go. However I have one on one site for a reason, my character in game is female. As for on here all my avatars and sigs used to be Laguna Loire from 8 but I changed to different ones and I love this one Owen made me. I guess I choose my avatar and sig (they always match like good underwear on women should) based on my current screen name if it is feminine then why not I state clearly in my profile I'm a guy. I don't find it stupid I find the guys who don't read profiles or do checks then hit on someone for their user-name/sig/avatar only to be disgusted when the reply is "dude, I am a man! a MALE you know I got the same stuff as you down there?" are the stupid ones.
Most people tend to think I'm male. I've always had an Alexis Bledel signature though. Hmm, maybe it's just my personality then.
Only when Rainecloud does it.
:)
Kitty boy is feminine enough to suit everybody's needs. But, no, I think nothing of it.
It just so happens that my current set is a 'Certified Beauty Queen'. xP
Uhh...I have the personality of Osaka. Yea and the signiture was something funny. I'm a huge Azumanga fan so there ;p
None of my avatars or sigs have had people in them. I assume your talking about opposite gender humans.
CAN YOU TELL ME THE GENDER OF MY BLUE LITTLE ALIEN PUPU?

It's an alien.
Probably from a species that takes 22 genders to procreate. I'll guess gender # 14
It is so embarrassing when you make judgements about people on the internet and end up being wrong.
THERE IS A PINK PUPU? I WANT ONE TOO!!! DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS?

I thought Nic0tine was a girl ...
Everyone thinks I'm a boy, and I use male avatars. Eh.
FOA is not a little boy.
Don't have a problem with it. You could usually tell who's a guy and who's a girl by the way they post.
I had an avatar of Rinoa for the longest time. She's cool!
Flying Mullet's Batman signature made me think he was a man for a while :(
I don't find it weird one bit... :)
Sometimes...maybe depends on the person and what sort of sig/av. Actually I think I'm still a bit vague on a few people here...whether they are male or female. Sometimes I wanna use a Sora setup, but with my name being generally male, I end up with new people thinking I'm a guy I think.. not that it matters, but for now I prefer my kairi avatar anyway cos Kairi feels very me here ^_^
I used to get people thinking I was female because I used to have Cassandra from Soul Calibur in my sig and avatar all pretty in purple.
I don't know what my sig and avatar say now.
I'm generally recieved as either male or lesbian
I had a Nel Zelpher and Lenneth Valkyrie signature/avatar thing going on a while ago. Didn't get mistaken as a female though.
I always assume everyone is male until I have reasons to believe otherwise. Pretty high male ratio here, ya?
Not at all. I've had male & female sigs & avatar's previously.
On MMO's I say I'm a guy, saves trouble.
im in love with my sig, literally
woops, forgot something, well, i just thought of it: i dont think it matters with my sig being Sephiroth, because its in my name, LADY of the sheep
Weird? No. Misleading? Occasionally.
I am still convinced that Azar is just a giant pair of eyebrows.
It's sometimes a bit confusing when a guy has a feminine sig/avatar or the other way around, but it doesn't really bother me. Sometimes I'm not sure which gender someone is, but I can still check their user profile, and if their gender isn't told there, I'll probably just use neutral words to refer to his/her gender. :p
I do get confused by that.
Mind, on non-FF boards, people often think 'Cloudane' sounds feminine. Combined with the slightly non-masculine looks of some FF main characters that I usually have as avatars, people often wrongly think I'm a girl.
well I find it funny to be mistaken for a girl. On a game IRC chat channel where I was a moderator and played a female character so many guys used to hit on me and I used to let them, then right as they were all like "OMFG I can't hold it any longer, you're so hot" I used to go and ruin it for them by going "ROFL I'm a guy IRL sicko!" then ban kick them from the chat. Yeah this was IRC and they had never seen a picture of me in their lives and yet they hit on me.
I don't find it weird, but I tend to associate people's genders to the gender of the person in their avatar and/or signature. My avatars (I'm too lazy for a sig) are usually male characters from games/anime/tv series becuse I rarely ever find a female character that I find interesting. Most females in things I watch are either too much sugar n cream, damsels in distress or just plain annoying! So yeah.
i find it confusin....cuz i normally relate people to their avatars...
I don't mind at all. I have a wide range of Lene Marlin/Vanessa-Mae avatar and signature setups that I'll probably revert back to in a few days or so.
:p
It's not weird, but it can be really misleading. :jess:
I don't really care. I can usually tell by the way they write or the style the signature is done (Eh... don't ask. I'm bad at explaining.), and if I can't figure out by that then I'll assume they are of *insertgenderhere* gender based off my guesses and get on with life. Sometimes I'm wrong, sometimes I'm right. And if I do figure out that they're of the opposite gender, I just switch my thinking of them.
Everyone thinks I'm a guy, because I always have either Tidus or Cloud in my Avy/Sig and I spell my name Jesse1
I do not think it is weird, though people in the past have thought I was a girl due to my sigs. *shrugs* I just make sigs relative to what I am interested in at the moment, whether it is my favorite character of an anime I am watching or a game I am playing or I have random moods. Thinking about it, I might make a Fate/Stay Night sig soon...
I don't find it weird. My avatar is male. :D
I thought Lindy was a girl for the longest time because he always had somewhat feminine sigs and avatars. I stick with the neutral gender for mine, as is evidenced by my robot and text.
I have Morrigan as my sig and I'm a guy.
I don't think it's weird at all. I usually have females as my avatars, and I'm a girl. Once I had Squall as my avatar, cus I can relate alot to him, and once I had Sephiroth... I think those are the only males I've had as avatars.
And signatures? I'm never changing mine. I <3 Rikku!
Well, I switch alot between guy's and girl's in my sigs. I don't think it's wierd. Not the least bit. The only way you would mistake me for a guy is if you can't read.
ff7+ff10 gurl 100
I spelled girl wrong, but that's cause I thought it was cool. Not so much anymore. xD.
I have a girl in my sig but does that mean I'm a girl? No it obviously doesn't
Most of the time people with opposite gender sigs or avatars have them because they find the person featured in the pictures attractive, or respect them, or like them.
There'e nothing wrong with that.
