Forums or Fora

Which do you think is the plural for forum? With an 's' like most english words are, or the latin plural 'a'.

It's forums. Fora is pretentious and utterly useless.

Forums, since sometimes I call the EoFF forum 'fora' as a nickname.

Who calls it the "fora" anyway? o_o

I've always used the word "forums" as a plural for "forum". I could be wrong, though... English is only my second language.

I guess it should be fora. But I speak English, so it's forums.

"Forums" is the derivative of "fora" for those stupid people in the room who cannot pluralize "forum" properly.

I like fora, because the word reminds me of flower, and it makes me feel like I'm sniffing a beautiful lilly when I participate in EoFF.

It is clearly Fori like cacti I don't know what you people are talking about.:)

it sounds stupid to say fora, it sounds like flora, and thats butter, i think, oh dear me

I say forums, but then again I constantly mispell forums as forams so there you go.

I prefer using Fora, I just usually forget about it, or am ridiculed and stop because I cannot bear it any longer ;.;

I believe it comes from the Latin. Since as far as my memory serves me forum is a Latin word.

Anyways, both are correct and accepted spellings. I alternate between both of them.

EDIT: It is like the singular for data is datum.

it has always been forums for me...

I use “fora” as a plural to forum when referring to the archaic, Latin meaning of the word.
I use “forums” as a plural to forum when referring to the electronic meaning of the word, which is the forum we are on now.
I use “forums” as a plural for all other meanings of the word that are not mentioned above.

Every time I heat "fora" I cringe. It's like hearing that other word that I am not going to bring up in this thread because it is a bad idea.

Forums, but it just occurred to me as I was gazing at the title on my web browser window -- It's Eyes on Final Fantasy Forums, so it should be EoFFF. As opposed to the commonly used EoFF.

I didn't actually know that. Gee, I'm illiterate now. :( Still, since nobody uses 'fora' I don't want to sound like a goon. How could you use that word in conversation?

Fora sounds nicer but in terms of correctness i will have to go with forums....
