Final Fantasy III is better than I and II, Final Fantasy VI is better than IV and V, Final Fantasy IX is better than VII and VIII, now Final Fantasy XII is better than X and XI (I've been told. I haven't played XI).
I look forward to Final Fantasy XV.

Haha, i agree with roto13-ness...except that i dont look forward to XV for the same reason that i dont look forward to XIII: its going to be on an uber-expensive console that i will never be able to afford until i'm 30 >_<
for now XI > XII.
until I play XII, in which that case it would be XII > All.
Technically that means its every 3 for 9 games, every 4. X. X-2( which really shouldnt even be considered a game since no one like it from what i hear) and 11 and 12

With the exception of III, which I have not yet played, that seems really spot on. :p And considering the technical advances they made for the third installment over the first two, I'd be pretty surprised if I didn't think it was the better game as well.
Pretty much. The only one on that list I could possibly imagine being incorrect is FFXII being better than FFX but then I need to play FFXII before I can make a judgment.
Another trend that seems to be quite popular is the 3rd>1st>2nd cycle.
I haven't noticed a pattern. I like I better than II, VI better than IV or V, VII better than VIII and IX and XII a little bit better than X. Wait, that is a pattern. Based on the different consoles, it goes first(NES-I), last(SNES-VI), first(PS-VII), last(PS2-XII). Which means I'm gonna really like XIII.

No way is IX better than VII or VIII, and so far I'm unconvinced that XII is better than X.
III over 1 and II, don't know.... havent played III
VI over IV and V... I could argue on IV a little but I have less experience playing VI and its only on that slow as molasses playstation.(no offense meant to playstation... seems i worded this wrong.. just the game runs HORRIBLY on PS)....
IX over VII and VIII, amen.
XII over X and X-2 or X and XI, whichever you want to say is not a true FF game, X-2 or XI both work I hear.... oh and XII looks to be better than both.
