super metroid is my favorite.
Nintendo
* Checkmate (???)...there was a whole lot of games i enjoyed, but i also remembered this chess-like game and there are different warriors depending on what side i chose
Super Nintendo
* Super Mario Bros 3...i think i made it to world 5 at the most. my favorite one is Giant Land
* Zelda: A Link To The Past...a more broad definition of adventure in my eyes. first i watched my brother and cousins play, and they passively gave me the guidance to get through most parts of the game
I liked Crono Trigger and FF IV, as my fav classics.
the holy nintendo trinity (mario, link, samus) is excellent as well
The Legend of Zelda.
NES- Astyanax (probably never heard of it, rather unoriginal, but it was fun)
Castlevania
FFI
Super Mario 3
SNES-
FFVI
FFIV
FFV
Chrono Trigger
The original Zelda for the NES. It was the first open ended GTA type world released on a console. By GTA type I mean being open ended. I'll never forget the time I beat it at midnite. Wife thought I was crazy for jumping up and down in glee.
>>> FF, Gradius and Mario games..
Well, Zelda: LttP on SNES was a huge favourite of mine when I was younger. I kept hiring it from the video store.
Also Super Mario Bro. 3 on SNES was a very good one.
Pretty much anything Mario. Plus the original Castlevania.
Destiny of an Emperor for NES.
When I had an Atari ST, the games I played most were probably Pacmania, Nebulus, Joe Blade, and OutRun. There were others, but those four are the ones I remember most.
For my Master System II, I only had 3 games: Alex Kidd in Miracle World, California Games, and World Games.
And those are all the older games that I played the most.
If I had to pick one to be my favorite (something I hate doing, but I will do it anyway), it would probably be Alex Kidd in Miracle World. I played it like, 3 times a day. I usually got up to the monkey and died. You would be one cool kid if you could get up to Jaffar. I wasn’t a cool kid. Janken. I called him Jaffar.
Street Fighter 2.
Mega Man 2 and 3
Mega Man X
Chrono Trigger
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Seiken Densetsu II: Secret of Mana
Final Fantasies I-VI
Kirby Super Star
Super Mario Bros. 3
Metroid
Super Castlevania (Castlevania IV?)
Dragon Quest III
And probably a godawfully large amount of more games.
I'm not going to bother, since it looks just like my list for Games You Keep Going Back to.
Except:
Ghosts 'n Goblins
some Mario games.
Glad to see other people who appreciate that classic Capcom game.
Mine are.....
SNES:
Super Mario All-Stars
Kirby's Super Star
Kirby no Kira Kira Kizzu (favorite puzzler on SFAM, bar none)
Seiken Densetsu 3
Megaman X
Final Fight 3
Star Fox
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Daruma Dojo
Pocky and Rocky
NES:
Strider
Mighty Final Fight
Crystalis (favorite SNK NES game)
Megaman 3
Layla
Destiny of an Emperor
Sweet Home
Bubble Bobble
Zelda 2
Punch-Out
Oh yeah, the Wonderboy games were pretty good. I remember being in love with one on the NES, where you get to ride cute dinosaurs and throw stone axes.
The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
I get the most nostalgic for Monster Party, The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy, Fester's Quest (yeah I said it), and Super Mario Bros.
actually... The first Adams Family Game.
o_o
edit: nowadays its probably meh...
so.... FFV.
Classics...
FF 3
FE (all except maybe Gaiden)
Mario 1-3
Jackal
Sonic and Tails
Lunar (Silver star and Eternal Blue
Legend of Zelda
and last but in no way least.... the numerous reincarnation of Tetris and Panel de Pon (Tetris Attack)
If Genesis counts as classic then the Sonic games, and Toejam and Earl.
I didn't play Snes or Nes, but in terms of PC/Commodore/Amiga
- Lemmings
- Worms
- Monkey Island
- Buggy Boy
- Ghostbusters
Any classic Mario game on any system is just godly  Oh, and old sonic the hedgehog games were great too
