I still love it for its utter cornyness. How can you not love lines like "But Mysidians were so helpless." and "AAAACCCCHHHHOOOO!!!!"? I know a lot of "hardcore" gamers may mock the really bad Engrish translation, but it's still special in its own way.
...Special in the same way that certain schools for mentally handicapped children are, perhaps, but still, it's still a hilariously inept translation.
And it's not as cringe-worthy as Breath of Fire 2's translation, you have to admit.

Even though it wasn't the best translation in the world it's still understandable.
The translation of FF"2" SNES doesn't really bother me since the parts with weird translations are usually quite funny. Especially "You Spoony Bard!" :D

I'm not sure if that's actually improper grammar, but it still sounds akward when read aloud.
The most obvious thing in FF2 for the SNES was the ridiculous abuse of punctuation. They'd have something like "Captain! Look at this! Monster!" That's not a quote from the game, but it's the idea.
I loved FF2 and the translation that kinda sucked. It was the first FF I ever played seriously and I will always appreciate that it led me to FF3/6j and ultimately FFT, which has become my favorite game of all time.
I never played it and I still love the translation.
