Hello,

None that I can think of for multiplayer. In terms of decent grid-based strategy games though, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2 for PS2 are highly recommended. Suikoden Tactics is good too, but slightly on the short side.
Tactics Ogre.
Almost all of GBA's Strat RPGs have multiplayer elements. Advance Wars (also on the DS) and FFTactics Advance are two of the most popular, and Tactics Ogre is one of the best. Then there's Fire Emblem on the GBA and Gamecube.
Vandal Hearts, if you're talking about the grid based strategy games. I think it's pretty rare though. :(
FFTA, Tactics Ogre, Suikoden Tactics.
Vandal Hearts I and II are the best, but not common (Not terribly rare either, but not common).
All the stuff by Nippon Ichi (Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, etc.)
Suikoden Tactics.
Take note that Phantom Brave doesn't play on a grid like FFT. Superb game though.
I heard Onimusha Tactics was decent and is a grid based strategy game.
I'd reccomend Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, FFTA, Tactics Ogre, Disgaea, and La Pucelle.
heheh anyone ever play kartia? ooohg
How come noone has said Shining Force yet? Now that's a great game and with the new, well not so much new anymore, remake on the GBA is pretty easy to get.
Oh man Ryth you fail.
I adore Shining Force.
never got to play the first one....love SF2 though!
KOUDELKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone. I'll give a few those a look, especially the PS2 ones. I take it the GBA games require a direct connect with someone else to be multiplayer. I've just had the itching to playing something similar to FFT, but something that isn't FFT :)
Ultimately, my dream would be to have an online grid based tactical rpg in which you could play head to head vs. others. Although I assume the market for such a game is probably very small and it wouldn't happen anytime soon.
front mission
Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth.
teehehehehe
Fire Emblem is like FFT but with many differences.... If your guy dies then you cant bring him back to life..no 3 turns to bring him back, if he dies he is GONE FOREVER!! And then you get to chose the weapon you attack with, and then the weapons have durability which mean they break after awhile...
I'd go for Vandal Hearts, Hoshigami and Tactics ogre.
Definately Makai Kingdom.
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis for GBA, and then get your hands on Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together for PSX. Onimusha Tactics is decent, however not up to par with FFT and TO.
