Battle of the Leons - pick a favorite

One of my first memories of this website, even before I joined, was browsing the front site and seeing the character bios featured of all the different games. I saw this description of Leon in FF2:

This is an outrage. Leon is awesome. But Squall is awesome. Squall going by the name of Leon in Kingdom Hearts is also awesome.

And before someone else says it: Whatever.

So if you had to choose, do you like Leon or Squall more? Or is there a third dark horse Leon I'm forgetting about?

Leon FF II was a backstabbing assface.

Defo Squall, although Leon is interesting too.

I prefer Squall.

I used to like Squall but then I grew up and realized he is an idiot. You all will too, eventually.

FFII Leon all the way. Pretty much the best thing about FFII.

Isn't that the whole point of his character? He constantly pushes everyone away, then realizes what an idiot he's being and what he was doing was wrong, and learns to get close to others. That's part of his character development. I can't confirm since I never finished FF8 but it seemed to be the kind of direction they were taking his character, and I'm also basing this on what other people have said.

Neither of them are great.
