Does it deserve its reputation as the truly greatest of foods?
It's okay but people get all crazy about it and act like it's god's gift to man. I don't eat it plain and mainly just use it as an ingredient in other things.
The only reason it's the american staple for breakfast is because a propagandist was paid to promote it and it worked quite well.

Bacon's nice, but not like, the best thing ever. Americans put bacon in anything. Bacon Ice Cream Sundaes? Really?
It's great but I've always held the belief that Americans smurf it up by scorching it to all hell.
Bacon is good, but it isn't a stand alone food. Also if i could only eat one part of a pug for the rest if my life I'd choose the rubs instead. Though it is good it's best as a side.
Love bacon, not the food of gods. But I still love it. Unless someone brings in deer meat for deer burgers.
Bacon's good, but sausage is better.
I love it but yeah. Not worth the cholesterol.
I like bacon, it is useful in some type recipes and a good food enhancer as in a bacon cheese burger or a BLT..etc. Something about its saltiness, slight crispiness and smoked flavor that i find appealing. I use it as combination with plain white rice.
I never know when it's done and whether or not I over cook it.
I like it when I have it but if it stopped existing I wouldn't be too fussed, I dont explicitly order things with bacon when Im out, but if I order a meal and it happens to come with bacon, neither do I pick it off.
I like backn, but only in small amounts... All that sodium ugh... :(
Bacon is definitely God tier food. The only criticism I have is that it doesn't stay warm for very long. If someone brings me a bacon sandwich that has been off the grill for more than five minutes... it is truly devastating.
Bacon is fantastic, I have it most mornings. I don't understand why Americans love it so much though, US bacon is god awful, it tastes and feels like hard rubber.
