There are a trout ton of superhero movies out and a ton more coming out.
This year we've had:
Wonder Woman
Spiderman: Homecoming
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Logan
We still have left to go:
Thor: Ragnarok
Justice League
Black Panther
Next year we have:
Infinity War
New Mutants
Deadpool 2
Ant-Man and Wasp
Venom
Aquaman
XMEN: Dark Pheonix
That's a lot of smurfing superheros movies. Do you feel it's a bit too much now?

Didn't we have this thread earlier this year? I think it was Bubba who was griping about it before. Is this some kind of CK conspiracy??
Anyway, there's no question about having significantly more superhero movies than in any other period, but it doesn't mean they are bad. Civil War was fantastic. I really liked Spider-man Homecoming and Wonder Woman and I hear the last Wolverine movie was pretty good too. Black Panther is also somewhat progressive for featuring a black protagonist with a black director, and I'm looking forward to it.
What is a little annoying is that Marvel has settled on a formula for their movies which, other than Civil War, doesn't really move things along. There also hasn't really been a compelling villain in any of them other than Loki, although Vulture was probably the second best villain they've had and he was pretty recent, so things may be looking up.
I still love these movies and just avoid the terrible ones.

Psychotic
It is for me, especially when the genre has never been something that was mindblowing to me to begin with. It also confuses me when people get really hyped for stuff like Ant Man or when the original Guardians of the Galaxy came out. Like, what? Who are these people? Am I meant to have heard of them, or...?

Guardians is a little different. It is based on a comic, but one most people never heard of. I think that one was more to fill a sci-fi void than a superhero one and it succeeded there.
Ant-man and Dr. Strange are a little more head-scratching. I rented Ant-man and Paul Rudd was pretty funny in it, but other than that it was pretty forgettable. Entertaining, but forgettable. I'll probably rent Dr. Strange too at some point. These more obscure heroes are still worth a $4 rental and two hours of my time, but not theater money.

I haven't even seen Ant-man yet. I did watch dr. strange recently and while it was visually beautiful, it was pretty plot wise forgettable.
I like these movies. I just feel that is all we have now FOR movies. Decent movies that is. They are doing well box office wise.

Ant-Man is a heist movie. Like Ocean's Eleven, and enjoyable in the same mindset. Yes, it happens to take place in the Marvel universe, but that's really secondary to the majority of the movie's plot and action.
If you think of them all as "superhero movies", yeah, there's a lot of them. But there's a lot of variety to them within that classification.

There are a lot of super hero movies, but there are a lot of good or enjoyable movies outside of that too. I just saw Baby Driver this week and thought it was pretty enjoyable. I go to the movies once a week though almost, so that might help it not seem as saturated by super hero movies.
I find the super hero movies enjoyable though. If you are getting tired of them, I can see it getting annoying since they get a lot of advertising and come out pretty frequently. It's also all I hear my coworkers talk about when they want to go to the movies.
Edit: I also agree with Skyblade that the marvel movies at least have decent variety, which keeps them pretty interesting.

Yeah, I go to the cinema a lot too, which probably helps the feeling that there are a lot of movies that aren't superhero flicks out.
I mean did you see Atomic Blonde?!

No I didn't get a chance to. I wanted to though. Good?
I was just having this convo with some friends of mine so I thought i'd bring it up here. OH! There's a good video I watched recently about the Bathos humor in a lot of Marvel films

We have a lot of shows now too don't forget.
Arrow
The Flash
Legends of Tomorrow
Supergirl
Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
The Defenders
Agents of Shield
Legion
Gotham
Black Lightning
The Inhumans
Teen Titans
Cloak & Dagger
Gifted
The Runaways
It's not oversaturation to me. As long as it stays good then it's fine, but I think TV might end up going on the bad note. Inhumans looks terrible and to me Gifted looks bad too, and Cloak & Dagger looks okay.
