Are you afraid of clowns? :ohdear:
They're creepy, but I'm not like "OMFG GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME" creepy.
Unless it's whatshisface from It. Keep that mothersmurfer away from me.
Your clowns don't frighten me. Even the great Tim Curry in clown makeup don't frighten me.
Nope. Never understood the fear (or like) of clowns.
That said, there's only one clown that really puts the fear in me -

No
No. It also always really irked me that they turned the monster from It into a straight up clown that was killing kids when the story is so much more than that.
I'm not really bothered by them, but I do find it amusing so many people think they are scary. So for those of you who are afraid of them, why?

I don't know, I think it's kind of a dumb and overused cliché. And honestly, it's 2015 - how often are people actually being exposed to clowns? The only time they're ever seen is in the horror genre.
I have a sinking suspicion the movie IT had a lot to do with it. Either that or bad experiences with birthday clowns growing up.
Merging with our recent clowns thread :greenie:
I don't find regular clowns scary, but the ones made to specifically look creepy do indeed look creepy.
I don't have coulrophobia but I don't particularly like clowns, it is very easy to get them to a creepy appearance.
I don't even really find "creepy" clowns scary. I mean the clown get-up just makes them more ridiculous. I don't know, I really want someone who is afraid to actually explain it to me because I can't wrap my head around it.
Ive never understood this either. Really if they are scared of clowns why not comedians then as they are this generation of the clown.
Only when Batman is not around. :(
