In many MMOs, riding a boat or taking some other sort of travel device just cuts you right to your destination. But in FFXI you can ride it the whole way :hyper: That's super awesome!

Nope, I wish every MMO had this, and I thought it was the best thing when WoW introduced a couple of zeppelins that acted this way like the Org-Thunder Bluff run!
Hey pike, wait till you hear this:
You can take out your fishing rod and fish on the boat. You can fish up monsters that attack you too! And in foggy weather, at night, you might get attacked by pirate necromancers!
The boat to the dunes would be the first destination for lowbies to travel too and get a real exp party. Sometimes this boat could get attacked by pirates or a Kraken. I heard stories that some mean people would lure the mobs downstairs where lowbies would be hiding for their lives for some MPK/slaughter.
Sounds really mean, but funny as hell! :3 Awww no one will raise you at the boat drop off point??? //sadface /cry /sulk
Of course as WHM I would always raise if I found dead bodies on/at the exit of the boat, otherwise they would have to home point and start over. xD
If only the part where the boat sinks after hitting a giant iceberg is available. :(
