A remake of FFVII won't happen, period.
Square-Enix is too smurfing incompetent today to create a game on the scale of a FFVII remake(without screwing-up). They already said if they do it, the game...
Graphics =/= a story's quality. FFIV:TAY is a good example of this(unnoriginal plot and lots of fanservice).
IMO Square is slowing dying. FFIV:TAY, FFXIII, FFXIV, most of the FFVII Compilation......
I agree with you that the Compilation made the characters' abilities too over-the-top, but they aren't completely ilogical.
For example, the original game is constantly showing/telling you how...
Well, there was always Xande (III) who managed to keep the entire world frozen in time and submerged under an ocean for Noah-knows-how-long. He's often overlooked, but IMHO, that's quite succesful....
I will answer this with your own quote:
But, if we go by all the information presented to us in the original game and other Compilation titles, wrong speculation.
Ex-Death was badass, funny(sometimes), and disturbing(his castle being entirely made from the bodies of the people he killed, anyone?).
And his themes are awesome. Yes, all of them.
Well,...
Yeah, it's obvious to me Square was intending it to be a surprise. After all, for the first half of the game, Ghestal was the big-bad giving all the orders, and Kefka was the guy executing them....
Did it ever cross your mind the reason Ghestal kept Kefka by his side, was because Ghestal needed him? After all, Kefka was as cruel as him(probably even more), and wouldn't object to some of his...
I admit I misinterpreted some things in your post, but the point still stands.
Yes, Kefka is smart enough to fool the emperor, I never denied that, but that's all he did. And it wasn't even...
That's not manipulation, that's waiting for the right moment to strike. The emperor was already an evil and ambitious man who wanted the power of the Espers(and the Triad) and went after it. Kefka...
.....Not that I remember. Could you please refresh my memory?
FFVII today is more overhated than overrated IMO.
The most overrated FF game IMHO is FFVI. The level of prise fans give this game(together with Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, and FF Tatctics) is...
Just because Kuja is smarter than Kefka, doesn't mean Kefka is an idiot. I never said that.
But along FFIX, Kuja manipulated lots of people. That makes him smarter than Kefka in my book.
What he said.
Kuja was a much more developed/complex villain than Kefka(or most FF main-villains).
And smarter too.
I agree.
AND the game tell us that Sephiroth's will is practically unmatched, that he was the one responsible for the current Reunion(Hojo literally says that, at the Whirlwind-Maze), and that the clones are...
1. Kuja
2. Sephiroth
3. Kefka
4. Ultimecia
5. Golbez
The Man and Wolf Kanno
The other FF villains weren't being helped, they were using their own abilities(power and/or intelligence) to directly or indirectly force/influence other people in doing...
Guys, the fact Ghestal needed Kefka's help to reach his goals, doesn't change the fact Kefka needed Ghestal's help to reach his goal too. They were both working together.
The problem with Kefka......
VeloZer0 and Wolf Kanno...
The difference here, is that the other FF villains who used other people to achieve their goals, influenced or manipulated them. For example, Zemus used mind-control on...
Yes, but Kefka was able to reach the Espers and kill them in Thamasa, and reach the Warring Triad in the Floating Continent to push them out of alignment, only because he was following Ghestal's...
Well, in my opinion many FF games presented a huge, and "really stupid", plot-twist at the middle or end of the game. For example:
FFI was about defeating the elemental fiends and saving the...
I think that what Tonberry_King is saying, is that Ghestal was the one ordering Kefka to do many of the things he did.
No.
Play the game again, and read the official materials released by...
For anyone interested, there is a guy posting episodes of BC(with english subtitles) on YouTube.

And why exactly do you think the time-travel plot was poorly utilized?[/QUOTE]
Beyond turning out to be an over-glorified flashback, Time travel comes into the main focus of the story until late...
