10. Clementine...
One of my favorite things about the game is the way its story is structured, especially in the first half of the game. It bounces around between characters and places seemingly without rhyme or...
Yeah, I was never a fan of Hope to begin with, but he's definitely a shadow of his former self in Lightning Returns. If I were to guess, I'd say it's because they shoehorned him into the role of...
For me, it's FFXII by a mile on gameplay, and Mass Effect 2 by a mile on characters.
I might have to flip a coin on this one...
In almost any other category, it would have been close, but in gameplay? FFXII all the way.
Probably Mass Effect 2 for me. Both games have characters that I love, but Mass Effect has slightly more of them.
Mass Effect 2
Strength: Characters
Weakness: Music
The Witcher III
Strength: Characters
Weakness: Plot
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Strength: Gameplay
Oof, this is another tough one.
On plot, I think I'll say FFIV. The plot of FFVI is just a little too sprawling and disconnected. I still love it, but FFIV has the edge here.
Characters, it's...
Oof, that's a really tough match-up. Honestly I'd vote for both if I could.
They're just about even on plot, but I'm gonna have to give it to The Witcher, for the simple reason that it allows...
These are FFXIII-2's two best categories. Not even a choice.
I like the idea of doing two categories per round. So far, the categories have been pretty successful at getting me to vote against my own nominations. Having two categories should make things even...
Actually, that was me! I love JRPGs, but I also love Dragon Age.
Disappointed but not surprised about Final Fantasy XIII losing, even in the category I consider to be one of its greatest strengths. I know I'm in a tiny minority on that one.
I am a bit surprised...
That's true of a lot of MMOs, but FFXIV is pretty special in that regard. It really focuses on its main plot, to the point where a significant amount of other content is gated behind story progress....
No contest. Both games are fun in their own way, and Ar nosurge has some interesting side activities like Genometrics, but FFXII's battle system is much more satisfying. That's more than enough to...
This, 100%. This is definitely a trend that has taken over game soundtracks in the last decade or two, and it's very upsetting.
Wow, I'm shocked. That battle theme is one of the best in the series, for me anyway. In a soundtrack that overall is a bit of a disappointment, it was always one of the standouts for me.
FFX has a higher than usual number of "meh" tracks, for a Final Fantasy game. The good ones, however, are some of the best in the series, so it's still got my vote.
Yes, but I never bothered to look up what it does. I took one look at its attack stat and ditched it. Whoops ^^;.
My biggest regret when I got to the Emperor in Pandaemonium was not having Flare past level 5 on anyone. It and Ultima are the only things that seem to do decent damage to him.
Ah, true, the prices at the inns skyrocket when you get really low on HP/MP.
I love the character progression system in FFII! And it's kind of funny to hear you say your biggest problem is money. I remember it being like that for a short while in the beginning, but pretty...
FFXIII-2's main story is really bad, but the side content is fun enough to elevate it from an average game to a great game, for me at least. Between the paradox endings, optional bosses, fragment...
I actually very much prefer Trails of Cold Steel IV, but I made the mistake of trying to do the poll at like 2am, and I chose Dark Souls by accident :(. Maybe you could take that into account when...
I love The Old Republic, but its gameplay is hot garbage. I've never played Xenogears, but it'd be hard for it to be worse.
