Edge is more notable than Shadow? You so crazy, IGN. The rest of their choices were interesting, at least. Not the biggest FF8 fan, but Laguna definitely stole every scene he was in.
Later, you could've traded (all 3 of) the badges in for a Power Ring S and Charger A. The payoff is pretty mediocre, but playing the H&S game in Bledavik more than makes up for the sidequest's...

One of my fave characters ever, actually.
You'd think someone with military expertise like Steiner would be able to avoid walking right into an obvious trap.
I can only remember one character theme off the top of my head: Shadow Madness - Catman's Theme
Probably Daguerreo or Madain Sari. FFIX did a good job at making all towns enjoyable, though...except Bran Bal, maybe.
I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but in case y'haven't, Deep Dungeon is only accessible after clearing Murond Holy Place but before going to the final set of battles at Orbonne Monastery.
More of a town theme guy, but I was always fond of Natural Selection from Arc the Lad TOTS.
Good for FM3 -- the more attention, the better. Already have it for PSX, though.

It really does stand out as one of the best FF sidequests in recent memory, and washes away that bitter taste of Tetra Master quite nicely.
Maybe a bit story-wise, but in battle, dude cleans house. Nothin' bad to say on that end.
Hah, it's always fun to read the "Received Cancer" message.
IX marked the last time an installment truly captivated me. I didn't stop paying its follow-ups, but I should've.
Alexandrian men live under the brutal oppression of a femmocracy and are lucky to get anything!
Horntail? Tailhorn? Garnet should be more worried about the genetic factor that gives all genomes a giant Garland beard... Think of the poor daughter at her prom!
Ramza definitely isn't a static character; his actions are just less flamboyant and backstabby than Delita's.
I don't think Ziddy remembered, for reasons said. Dropping the "eagle's whim" line at Madain Sari just seems more like a tie-in to Amarant's ATE, showing our tailed protagonist was pretty crafty and...
I didn't mind the presentation since ATES were one of FF9's coolest contributions to the series. I guess the difference between a mandatory ATE and a normal cutaway scene is that the former's the...
Yeah, tactics aren't really needed when 95% of the enemies/AI can be steamrolled over with simplistic setups and attacks.
Hades' creepy throne. That sucker's gonna get some mad mileage on the highway -- normal chairs can eat their splintery, wooden hearts out.

Got 'em all at least once, but typically ignore the harder ones. I wouldn't put the Holy Lance in the same mind-numbing league as Beatrix' sword and such, though.
