I say get it to make things easier, but it'll take a while. I didn't get it until AFTER beating Lich.
Actually, this guy might be right about that. They do sound very similar, I never noticed.
Get to lv 58, then try. Spend lots of time in Eureka killing stuff, and whore the healing springs at the bottom (just don't spend too long in there or you might regret it).
Monk won't do too well. I reccomend making that monk a red mage, so you can have two healers if you need to. Use Arctic Wind items and Blizzard spells, get ice equipment, and fight it with two swords...
It pissed me off you had to use buttons in FF4. I actually LIKED the stylus. Better control on the maps, faster menus, once you get used to it.
I did the DS and NES versions, and both were about the same difficulty, surprisingly. In the NES and DS versions, I was around lv 60 at the end, with two ninjas and two sages.
She'd unintentionally freeze your package off before you got anywhere. >.<
Get the HEAL/Esuna spell to lv 5 and you're good.
This game was meant to be very difficult. You can't get around it. I've only beaten the original once, and I'll quite possibly never do it again.
Here's what I know.
The Island Closest to Heaven and the Island Closest to Hell are AMAZING. Learn the Enc-None ability with Diablos and the Move-Find ability with Siren, then draw a whole bunch...
Don't know what to tell you, but I had Sakora virus for a while, it incessantly brought in pop-ups and trojans. SUPERAntiSpyware was the only thing that worked for me, so try that.
When you've...
God, I'm having a heart attack from the pure, unadulterated nonstalgia! First RPG ever. I also played 2-4 in that series. Some of the best moments my childhood had to offer.
(CMP, shush, I've...
Actually, all the town item shops are 100% identical. All the items are sold everywhere. You'd better keep a couple of each item, just in case. (Hint: Esuna/HEAL also can cure Curse after a certain...
Just as added input, I played the GBA and NES versions several times each, and here's what I think is the best setup for both.
Frionl/Firion - swords, shields, and black magic
Maria - bows,...
Done! I stayed up far too late for a video game, but the ending was pretty good. I got a ton of Ultimas, Flares, Holys, Meteors, Full-Lifes, Auras, and Triples at the two super-islands, beat the...
Ok, well thanks for the great advice everyone. I'm going for it tonight, and seeing if I can wipe the floor with Ultimecia/Griever.
The moon has a face!? Dear god, it's 1984 all over again!!
1. Over-abuse of the R1 trigger.
2. Actually, it's the party average plus or minus about 15, or so I've heard.
Alright, I'm going to try and kill Tonberry by abusing the Eden GF. Thanks for the...
Maybe I shouldn't be making a thread on this, but it's kind of frustrating and I don't know where else to go. I got FF8 a while back, mostly because I liked FF7 so much. I spent several weeks playing...
I officially change my answer to "yes, I have completed this game."
I love FF8, but I hate it, if you get what I mean. Sadly and embarassingly, I've never finished it.
My first time through, I had exactly 6 GFs when I got to disc 4 (didn't figure out to draw them...
If you're looking for a good RPG challenge, play it. It's short, it's fun, it's simple, and it's also just as hard as IV (unless you play an easy remake).
If you're looking for a...
I tried to go solo with a black mage. I got to lv 2, then gave up. Even getting there was hard.
I beat Chaos with a Lv1 white mage with nothing but 3 gil and a hammer. Beat THAT.
