The environment seems very similar to VII like you said, having one large what appears to be dystopian city and then a much greener world surrounding it.
As for other parallels, in one trailer...
I have a feeling that the effects used in the second video may make it harder to differentiate between the two, yet they do look very similar.
Also Noctis has "Emo hair" and a lot of kids are...
I know when I was replaying FF3 I accidently saved over that save file with my completed save file by accident, that was pretty annoying...
As if people would actually wear one of these outside, if someone actually wore one at a football game or something like they suggest, they'd end up getting stabbed or something.
I don't really want him to overpowered, as it would make the game unbalanced, if one person's summon was more powerful than everyone elses. Bahamut is great when he's overpowered and you get him in...
!Hadoken - Fire an overly sized projectile at opponent, large chance to miss yet does 9999 x 10 damage when it does. Can only be cast once between each visit to an inn.
!Richard - Kill everything...
Bahamut, I'm just that cliched.
I like Flying Mullet's idea, whenever a character says something stupid you can throw a fireball in their face!
If the codes were done effectively they should prevent people from being able to cheat the system. I don't think people can really cheat the system though, look at WoW, that uses pre-paid cards and...
Sabin is probably my favourite character, I just find it easy to relate to someone who wants to run away from a large amount of responsibility that's been dumped onto his shoulders.
Celes and...
Arguably Palom and Porom could be a bit worse for wear after being turned to stone for a bit. How did you not find Edge useful? Mine did nearly as much damage as Cecil and was twice as fast!

Either that or they'll get it horribly wrong...
How many more playable characters are going to be announced? They seem to be announcing new characters and then not giving any more information...
Most Final Fantasy games do re-use the same archtypes for each game, such as having a Brooding Male Hero, a Headstrong Female, Perky Young Girl etc. yet I think Nomura does alter them within each...
I like the sidequests in FFIX as they help to flesh out the world and add to the character of the game. The Gimme Cat though was annoying, the first time I fought it I thought it was a friendly...
A quick search on ebay does reveal more paraphernalia than I expected, including some of the things like the Art Books, unfortunately that's on the US ebay which means I can't buy it...
However...
I know I'd play it, yet other people may not. Final Fantasy V was never played for the story so the thought of expanding the story and world may not be as appealing as it would be for a Final Fantasy...
I think Party Swap was in GBA and not SNES because on the SNES they had more of an incentive to focus entirely on the story to improve the game, as in my opinion having the original final party, boy...

I'd really like some sort FFVI merchandise, especially some sort of T-shirt, yet all of the Final Fantasy things I've seen are FFVII related. I think that's a real shame as I'm sure, well I hope...
Galuf was the only character who had character development at all in FFV, arguably Faris had some though that was very limited. I don't see how you can hate the only fleshed out character!
Maybe kefka was misunderstood as well?

I prefer more exaggerated characters than realistic ones as well, it helps to define the characters as individuals and gives games a certain charm. When the characters are more caricatures of people...
