The story/setting, (some) of the characters, and the graphics. Everything else about it sucked.
Easy: that entire scene at the top of the Pharos tower, what with the Bal/Fran goodness and crazy ol' Dr. Cid.
I was really disppointed to see Ject in Dissidia instead of Seymour. Jecht was never a real villain! But it goes to show that maybe, Seymour didn't make enough of an impact on the fans.

Almost all of the Main Continent ones. It's one of the reasons I loved FFIX so much, because the world it was set in was just so.... *magical* :jess:
My faves though:
Lindblum - the size and...
I think a lot of Spoony's criticism is indeed for the sake of it being funny. I think Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation guy) once said something along the lines of "nobody wants to watch me say how great a...
Aeris since that's how it's written in the original game. But I'm not fussy, I switch from time to time.
I'm in favour of them doing an updated-graphics PSP port like they did with I & II... since I won't be shelling out for a DS, and the chibi-style graphics for 3 and 4 were a bit meh.
I think he was actually suffering from an inferiority complex and jealousy over Rosa, which Golbez used to turn him against the rest of the party.
I rank him up there with Kefka and Kuja in terms of theatrical villany. I actually prefer Firion over Mateus, but props to a guy who to takes over Hell and then Heaven XD
Mwahaha!
I guess CotM was pretty hard, but it was also my first (Castlevania and GBA game) and favourite. Dracula was wicked hard unless you memorised his attack patterns.... which I did by the...
Ohohoho, this. It's difficult to make a good 3D castlevania without it copying some other game.
Genius? Hardly. Except maybe at... procrastination! Heheh. Sandwich eh? Mmmm toasted ham and cheeeeeeese
I wish I'd played the other GBA ones, since I loved CotM. Back then though, I couldn't afford to buy the games myself, and my parents didn't approve of dem silly vidya games, hur hurr.
I've played...
I'm new so apologies if this thread is in the wrong place, already been done etc.
Anyone else here play Castlevania? What's your favourite game(s)? Fav characters? Do you prefer oldschool (linear)...
When asked to list my top 5 games, OoT is always in there, but the truth is I loved MM and Oot equally. I played them both on my cousin's N64 and used to switch between them a lot, so my memories...
How come I'm wrong about 12? I personally found most of the characters to be a bit bland and wasn't all that interested in the political-style plotline. I know some people liked this change of style...
Damn roman numerals! Thanks for the heads up, corrected it now :P
Oh, forumboards. This takes me back. I haven't been a member on a FF-centric board since about 2005. Well, here I am on a new one, since I miss discussing Final Fantasy endlessly.
Guess you'll...
