Okay, now I can't seem to get past the labyrinth. Can anybody offer pointers on this one?

have you unlocked the "boxemon" mission? you unlock it somewhere inthe level by shooting a memory capsule i think but i may be wrong.
after completing that mission, the red box at the resting point will have 3 limit breakers, a phoenix down and all sorts of healing items.

The one on GameFAQs is not very realistic. That guide presumes that you have a high-level character and top-of-the-line weapons, which I don't have. When I play, each mission only provides me with a level one Vincent and a basic Cerberus. That's it. And I've already passed the game. Is that normal?

you should have the weapons from your last paythrough.
and your supposed to be on level 1 so thats normal.
what weapons do you have? are you sure the cerberus hasn't been upgraded at all?

Dead positive. The Cerberus has not be upgraded at all. All I have is a simple Cerberus and two "Auto Scopes".
