quick question

i have a question im geting ready to start a game on FFTA and well my friend told me the only way to get cid is to get all 300 quests or missions done and he said he had to trade with other people to get quest items to finish i dont want to do that so what do i do............is there a certain way i have to do they quest.this is the only thing keeping me from playing FFTA so if there is a certain time and row of what order they go in..........is there a guide i can print out or something please help i want to start playing like tonight

You do not have to do any trading to get Cid. Trading is only required for a single mission (the Reserve Mission called "My Mission"), and that mission does not count toward the 300 required to get Cid. Just go ahead and start playing.
