    Default Laptop.

Just tell me what laptop to get. Don't question me. I'll kill you.

    Priorities:
    1) Less than $600; $400 is good.
    2) Smaller = better
    3) Pretty
    4) Doesn't need to be for gaming

I can't get away with playing PSP and DS in classes anymore so I'm ordering a laptop like yesterday.

I don't think you can get a good laptop for less than 600 when you throw in an extra battery/a longer lasting battery and a decent warranty. If it really only needs to be for web browsing and Word, maybe. Possibly one of these, but that price is without the warranty or a few upgrades that would make it a decent system. Really, with Dual Core processors the main thing on the market now and Quad Cores on the way, you're going to be buying outdated technology at that price.

There was a decent one for $350 (before $100 in upgrades) but I missed that sale. Damn me.

Take a look at these, these, and these. Refurbished is likely your best bet, and I think newegg and tigerdirect are pretty reliable; though I've never bought refurbished things before, so make sure to read the fine print and be wary.

They are making some for $100 I saw, they have a pull start and for every minute of pulling is 10 minutes of power xD.

The site doesn't say anythign about teh specs but, it's a 333 mhz processor I believe, 512 MB internal memory xD a wirless card of sorts and a swivel screen. has USB 2.0 ports for external HD space. It also runs on some sort of Linux port form what I hear.
