Don't any of the party members ever have to use the restroom? If so, why do they feel the need to hold it in for an entire adventure? You'd think after seeing Aeris die like that, Cloud would at least piss himself a little.......
No, they don't need to use the restroom, they have magical powers which make liquids (including blood) in their bodies disappear. This also explains why they don't bleed when they get bitten/sliced/shot ect.

It's because Cloud had to go to the bathroom. That's why they were late to save Aeris.
Make Cloud not go to the bathroom, he'll save Aeris and Challenge Sephiroth alone.
Then purposely loose the battle, you'll get a Game Over, but that's how.
And yes, they do loose blood, but they remove that so that it could have a Teen Rating.
